Boardwalk visit

It was an informative, leisurely walk through the area. We were able to walk and observe at our own pace.

We first stopped by the visitor's center, which was a nice facility and housed some neat displays on the area! It was getting later in the day, do we didn't get to spend as much time as one might ideally want to spend. However, we still had a great time seeing the wildlife, which included manatees and gators! There is... More

We loved seeing the landscape and the wildlife. It reminded me of parts of Honduras and Costa Rica. Worth getting out and walking on some of the trails. We were there on an overcast weekday and there were very few people around. We saw manatees, alligators, a yellow orange snake, fish and lots of cool birds along with the interesting... More

Easy to get to for viewing wildlife. The roads are dusty so be prepared, and go slow so you can actually see the wildlife. You will have the locals passing you and spraying a lot of dust on you, but expect it and enjoy when it's clear.

We just finished taking an airboat ride and were disappointed that we saw only 1 gator on the trip. Went down the road and stopped in here and we were not disappointed! Got lots of pictures of large gators and birds! The ranger that we spoke to was very good and gave us directions to areas with lots of wildlife... More

We enjoyed looking at the wildlife (especially birds and alligators) along this 24 mile drive. Plenty of opportunities to get out and take pictures of the fauna and flora. Definitely a must-do as part of an Everglades trip.

We enjoyed HW 41 west and stopped at the Kirby Storter Boardwalk to enjoy the forest. We did not spot a Florida Panther but a stork was waiting at the end of the walk

If you want to see big gators, and lots of them, stop at the Big Cypress Oasis Visitor Center on the right side of 41 if you are heading from Miami to Naples. You will not be disappointed. We stopped by at about 5 o'clock in the afternoon and from the small boardwalk along the canal we saw at least... More

We toured the Big Cypress National Preserve. It was amazing. The beauty was spectacular. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that appreciates God's work in nature.

Got chance to drive Loop Road coming from Marco Island. First stop was Big Cypress Swamp Welcome Center to pick up recommended 'Loop Road Scenic Drive' guide. Next drove about 20 miles to Monroe Station - the start of the scenic 24 mile Loop Road - which is unpaved for about 15 miles. Used iPhone GPS Walkmeter app to keep... More
