I used to live in Corpus Christi and first visited Big Bend in the early 70's and fell in love with this park immediately. It is the least visited National Park in America and has the most to offer of any of all the national parks I have visited. Even though I now live in Florida, I still jump at... More

I have been to Big Bend 15 times over my lifetime and it always is a great experience to get away from the city life and enjoy the outdoors. Big Bend is a hikers paradise for the exceptional views and fun. I always recommend going if you have the time. Bad news to people addicted to their cell phone, this... More

One of the least accessible attraction but worth the journey and the shade was very welcome once we got into the canyon itself. More

A quick hike. Formal hike goes along a ridge ABOVE the canyon. Be sure to take a dropdown trail so you can relax on the rocks alongside the river. More

This was a highlight of our trip to Big Bend National Park. Magnificent view of the towering canyon walls with an easy hike from the parking area. There was a hiking trail up the side of the canyon wall on the U.S. side that gave a very good view of the river as it approaches the mouth of the canyon.... More

Did the hike and loved the views. A great way to experience the Park when you are only spending 2 days. More

If you have the time, rent a kayak or canoe to get the best experience of Santa Elena Canyon. The hiking trail is nice but it only goes into the canyon about a 1/2 mile. Put your kayak in at the mouth and it is easy to paddle upstream into the canyon. They call it the boomerang loop because you... More

Very little water in Terlingua River and since we didn't raft, we couldn't see the Rio Grande River from the viewpoint. Really liked the drive and impressed with the rocks, mountains and desert landscape. More

Big Bend is huge and takes a few days to drive the main roads. There are several must see places within the park and this is one. The canyon walls and general ambience is so amazing you do need to drive there, park, and stroll over to the canyon entrance. The hike up into the canyon is not long, maybe... More
