You will find very few in-town parks with more astonishing views than this one, located on the end of a mesa directly above thousand-foot-deep White Rock Canyon. Drive to the very end of the paved road, park, and take a very short walk out to the viewing platform. If you're more adventurous, a rather rugged trail descends from a different... More

When we stopped at the Los Alamos Visitor Center, the nice man planned our day and suggested that we stop here on our way home. Tired and weary, we debated whether or not to make this extra stop! Well, did we make a good decision! It is easy to find, but as the man said " Be sure to pass... More

Upon returning to Santa Fe from Bandelier National Monument, we saw signs for the White Rock Overlook and decided to take a short detour. So glad we did! The views of the Rio Grande River far below, and mountains and mesas in the distance, are breathtaking. The overlook is literally suspended over the edge of a cliff; you can look... More

This is a nice lookout area overlooking the Rio Grande River. There is nothing else here...but it's well worth the short drive off the main road to take in the views.

if you're traveling to Bandelier, or to Los Alamos it's worth it to make a quick stop at the Overlook site. I wouldn't make a special trip there otherwisde.

Right off the main road and through a neighborhood at White Rock are amazing views. I thought the were unique in their views of the RIo Grand River and the valley, plus across the river into the mountain rangers (another reviewer didn't). For the time and ease in getting there, I think it's high value. From parking lot to the... More

On the advice of the bus driver who took us out to Bandalier Park we visited Overlook Park in White Rock, New Mexico. The view was fantastic of the Rio Grande and the Jemez Mountains all in one place. There was also a small waterfall to the side of the overlook even during the dry season when we visited. There... Not really much here. Went to it and it is just a lookout and if you have visited anything else in the area this is not a value-add.

Take Rover Blvd. then the 1st left onto Meadow Lane. Follow Meadow Lane through the neighborhood until you reach Overlook Rd. Parking is limited at the lookout area, but from here you get a great view of the Jemez Mountains and the Rio Grande. It is well worth the visit and only a few minutes from the highway.

This is a short way out of Los Alamos, in the neighboring town of White Rock. Pick up some picnic fare and enjoy the view and location along a huge canyon with the Rio Grande below. The overlook is in a county park.
