This is a great place to see the natural beauty of the area as many water falls tumble down over pure bedrock. Take the path out to the Bedrock Island. it is a unique habitat and contains the most spectacular water falls. We went early before it got too hot. Some areas of trails are shaded, but not all. The... More

I enjoyed the mild hiking and getaway from the city. But, I would not make it a destination, nor part of limited trip to DC area. Too many other things to do and see first. I was in area for third time and was visiting my Marine son stationed in the area, so it was nice for us to get... More

This is a must see if you are coming to northern Virginia. Only comparable with Niagara Falls, this park is great for hiking and seeing the beauty of nature.

This is a beautiful park with lush grounds, falls and trails. This is the first NationL Park I have visited that did not have trash cans and thus there s trash all over. My husband and I hav no problem picking up trash as we see it and disposing it in the nearest trash can. But wait! There are no... More

Fantastic views and a great price ($10 per car and good for three days). Falls are beautiful with three separate overlook areas for viewing. The first overlook has a lot of rocks and isn't for those who have mobility issues. Comfortable shoes are a must with all the walking trails. Worth the visit!

We stopped by Great Falls Park on our way to Washington DC. We didn't have time to hike any of the nature trails but we did check out all 3 lookouts which were just a short walk from the welcome center. Fantastic views of the waterfalls at all 3 lookout points and we saw a ton of picnic tables in... More

Went here years ago and it is a very small park with great waterfalls. I was surprised to see it listed here as a NATIONAL PARK. It is not. I tried contacting Trip Advisor through email, but just got an error messages. The only National Park in Virginia is Shenandoah National Park. Someone needs to fix this big error! Nice... More

It was easy to find, the wait time was 15 mins to get in. It was very calming & exciting for my family & I. The price charged to get in can be used for 3 consecutive days(cant beat that). There was so much to do & see, they also had a picnic/grill area. The trip is for the whole... More

I love this place. It can get very busy on nice days, but it's worth it. Once you get a bit down one of the trails, it gets a little quieter. The falls are beautiful, which you don't really expect to see so close to the city.
