Thank you, Mike, for a most memorable experience! As you are well aware, I was most tentative about even going on this hike; your gentle enthusiasm during our phone conversation pumped me enough to at least try. Let's just say I could not have done it without you! Not only did your ability enable us to experience the magic and... More

While researching what to do in Moab, I came across info on the fiery furnace. Of course, this was a couple of weeks prior to our trip and when we tried to book the ranger tour it was booked up (so glad it was now). I found out that Deep Desert Expeditions also did guided tours and in much smaller... More

Mike runs a solo operation taking people on desert hikes, and his favorite thing to do is to take them into the Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park. His enthusiasm for the place really shows, and he is very knowledgeable about the desert. He calls it his "office." We should all be so lucky. He takes groups of no more... More

My wife and I recently spent 10 days in Moab. A local friend asked if we would like to hike one of the most scenic areas in Moab and put us in touch with Mike Coronella, owner of Deep Desert Expeditions. We really didn't know what to expect since this was our 1st Moab visit and we haven't done much... More

all the reviews for Mike are 5 star and with good reason. we just completed a two week trip to the region, with lots of guides, and they were all great, Mike however, was #1. if you only have one day to spend in Arches, spend it with Mike in the fiery furnace. doesn't matter on age, athletic ability, or... Thanks to all these reviewers! Obviously, I love what I do--showing off the wonders of the desert. And I can do that in many other places than the Fiery Furnace in Arches (which I do visit more than anyone else!); rock art and photo tours, hiking in Canyonlands and the surrounding area, even camping and backpacking trips throughout the region. Mike from Deep Desert took us on a guided hike through the Fiery Furnace. It was an experience that was certainly a highlight of our vacation. Mike is a Search and Rescue expert, so my wife was not concerned with safety at all. Mike found places for our 9 year old daughter to crawl through and gave challenges to our... More

Our party of 7, age range 14 to 59, spent a fabulous morning in the Fiery Furnace with Mike. Everything from booking the hike, spending 3 fun filled hours in the furnace, to leaving with great tips for the rest of our abbreviated Grand Circle trip was done with ease and enjoyment. Mike was very informative about the area and... More

if you go to Fiery Furnace, go with Mike, he is the best. He knows the area in and out and his stories, knowledge, and adventures made the tour much better than you can get with the visitor center or with someone else.

Mike Coronella (435-260-1696) met us at Arches visitor center, and drove us to Fiery Furnace. By starting as early as possible, we were able to arrive before other hikers and to take advantage of the coolest part of the day. We toured Fiery Furnace with Mike an hour longer than we expected, since he didn't count time in transit or... More

Having Mike meet us at our lodging and take us to Arches Nat. Park to hike the Fiery Furnace was the top attraction of our trip Mike knew the park in and out and having him explain the history of the park and topography was well worth it. He has a keen mind and funny demeanor that made everyone in... More
