Sign up with Deep Desert and ask for Charlie! He is filled with knowledge and a love of nature. It's completely infectious. Family of four with kids ages 11 and 13 who hiked for four + hours and still didn't want it to end. I think that says it all. Pricey but totally worth it. Charlie -- we hope you... More

Our half-day tour with Mike in the Fiery Furnace was one of the highlights of our trip to Utah. His knowledge and expertise brought the landscape to life. He very deftly tailored the tour to account the fact that I was 5 months pregnant at the time but without skimping on the sense of adventure!

I can't say enough about Deep Desert Expeditions,Mike picked us up on time.It had rained recently and some of the roads were iffy but he made it through. It was hard to believe that the road we were on was a 2 way road. The things we seen were just unbelieveable beauty at it's best.Mike knows the area and shares his info,he... WOW!!! Breathtaking, amazing, exciting... My family spent the best day at Arches with Mike from Deep Desert on the Fiery Furnace tour. Can't believe the things Mike got us to do! I was shaking but never felt uncomfortable. It was very exciting and I would highly recommend taking this tour. Mike is so knowledgeable and you are in good hands... More

We booked a guided hike for Fiery Furnace with Deep Desert and our guide was Mike. He met us at the visitor center and gave us an overview of the hike. On our drive to Fiery furnace, Mike shared a lot of information about Arches national park, Moab area in general and about our hike. On our hike, he made... More

We found Mike and Deep Desert through a referral from another expedition group in Moab that didn't have space for us on a Fiery Furnace hike in Arches National Park. I called Mike and left him a message - he called me back in 15 minutes and told me I was in luck - he'd just had a cancellation for... More

Of all the things we enjoyed in Moab, this may have been our favorite. Charile was a fantastic guide and we went with a family of four, so it was a much smaller group than the 25 people on the range-led tour (if you can even get a ticket for it). Charile knows every inch of that area and it... More

5 of us were coupled with another father/son duo for a relatively private hike thru Fiery Furnace. While all of our scheduling was with Mike, our tour guide turned out to be Charley. At first we were wondering why we didn't get Mike, but Charley turned out to be a GREAT guide. he was knowledgable, friendly, yet not overbearing at... More

We booked a guided hike in Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park. To our surprise, Charlie was our guide instead of Mike. What a great morning! The place is just wondrous, and Charlie did a fabulous job of guiding us through it! He has incredible knowledge about the geology of the place, the plants and flowers and trees, and the... More

6 days, 80 miles of hiking, 3 miles of elevation change across desert washes, flower decked meadows, towering, monumental rocks in cathedral ranks, through crevasses, chimneys, stone stepping, marsh wading, stream hopping in magical, magical Canyonlands. This is truly one of the worlds great, great places and if you are very, very lucky you can experience it the way the... More
