This was an amazing tour, practically like having a private tour guide. Gemma was a terrific guide and took us to all the cool spots. We saw things we never would have found on our own. She was also terrific about giving us options (to hike a bit or not) that were extremely helpful. This is one tour you shouldn't... More

This four hour tour by fan took us to several of Moab's petroglyph and pictograph ancient rock sites. Even though some were located near roads and in plain view we would not have been aware of their history or importance if it weren't for our knowledgable guide. To access one of the sites we had to climb a hill which... More

My wife and I did a five day - four night canoe trip with CFI through Labryinth Canyon that was absolute spectacular! I would reccommended this trip to any outdoor enthusiast. We were well taken care of, the terrain was spectacular, the food was excellent and the guides were wonderful!

Patrick, we are especially fond of Labyrinth Canyon on the Green River and highly recommend it for families as well as schools. It's a full immersion trip, for sure, and all come away refreshed. Thank you for your review! More

My wife and I took two tours with the Institute, a morning tour viewing the petroglyphs of Canyonlands Park and an early evening tour of Arches National Park. Given that we are in our late 60's and hiking and climbing our not our regular activities, there was some concern as to the physical requirements of the tours. As it turned... More

Genesuz, thank you for your review of our tours! The Sunset Tour of Arches National Park is a favorite of ours. Nothing can compare to the color of the magnificent rock formations as they blaze red as the sun sets. Our goal is to provide the most complete experience possible within the comfort levels of our guests. Do come back!... More

What a fantastic trip. Eleven women ( 3 were guides) enjoyed 4 days on the Westwater River out of Grand Junction, CO. We had a couple of exciting thunderstorms, some calm water, some easy rapids and an absolutely thrilling ride the last day through numerous Class III and IV rapids. Way more fun than a roller coaster. We had plenty... More

Kathy, we're thrilled your experience on the Women: Wild By Nature women-only river trip was as excellent for you as it was for us! The trip takes place on a different stretch of a different river each year. We've been on the Colorado River in Westwater Canyon several times, as well as on the Green River in Labyrinth Canyon, and... More

We spent a week in June in the Moab area on our annual family reunion with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. The fist day was a raft trip on the Colorado River with the Canyonlands Field Institute. Two rafts held the 12 of us. Safety is stressed. The two guides were great, answering questions, telling us about the... More

Thank you for the great review, Tom! We love taking families on the river and out into the desert for special family gatherings. Nothing brings a group closer together than working, learning, playing, sharing, and experiencing new wonders in the wilds. Do come back! More

My wife Sue and I went on the Bookcliffs Archeology and Historical Tour this October. It was the first tour of its kind and we enjoyed it immensely! We were able to view petroglyphs and pictographs on private land and in remote areas that we would never have seen ourselves. The tour included invaluable information from Dr. Carol Patterson, who... My husband and I just completed a two day tour with CFI. Our tour was in to Range Creek Canyon - a box canyon the state of Utah now owns. Range Creek is a box canyon with many untouched pictographs, petroglyphs, and corn granaries. The people here were from the Fremont Culture and what a beautiful area they lived in!... More

We have made several trips to the Moab area, and think it to be one of the most interesting and beautiful places in the U.S. This trip, as we were driving to Spanish Trail RV Park a few miles south of downtown, we saw Canyonlands Field Institute's (CFI) building, and decided to stop in to check out what they had... My recent trip down the Lower San Juan river with CFI Moab was terrific. Canyons were a myriad of colors and the rapids were great fun. Top notch guides who were great teachers as well. Hope to take some of my family on a CFI trip.
