Our guide was superb - intelligent and kind - showed us the beauty of Arches National Park while the sun set - read passages from Edward Abbey, walked barefoot in the sand with us, and helped us identify the constellations after dark.

Consistently high quality and integrity ! As a tour operator, we have been using the step-on guides at Canyonlands for more than 6 years; for me alone, that's 25 tours that were exceptionally well-done; plenty of time for something to go wrong -- and nothing ever does !! Guides are educated, knowledgeable, accommodating and totally environmentally-aware. Throughout the day in... More

Wonderful, very personalized tour of Arches. Elevation and age kept us from doing anything aggressive. But our guide was fun, knowledgeable flexible. Great experience.

When we couldn't locate on our own some points of interest we wanted to see, we decided to seek out local help. Of several guide services in the area Canyonlands Field Institute's ad seemed to stand out on the page. We were very pleased with each interaction from the pleasant and knowledgable front desk to the highly qualified guide. Visiting,... More

This was an amazing tour, practically like having a private tour guide. Gemma was a terrific guide and took us to all the cool spots. We saw things we never would have found on our own. She was also terrific about giving us options (to hike a bit or not) that were extremely helpful. This is one tour you shouldn't... More

This four hour tour by fan took us to several of Moab's petroglyph and pictograph ancient rock sites. Even though some were located near roads and in plain view we would not have been aware of their history or importance if it weren't for our knowledgable guide. To access one of the sites we had to climb a hill which... More

My wife and I took two tours with the Institute, a morning tour viewing the petroglyphs of Canyonlands Park and an early evening tour of Arches National Park. Given that we are in our late 60's and hiking and climbing our not our regular activities, there was some concern as to the physical requirements of the tours. As it turned... More

What a fantastic trip. Eleven women ( 3 were guides) enjoyed 4 days on the Westwater River out of Grand Junction, CO. We had a couple of exciting thunderstorms, some calm water, some easy rapids and an absolutely thrilling ride the last day through numerous Class III and IV rapids. Way more fun than a roller coaster. We had plenty... More

Kathy, we're thrilled your experience on the Women: Wild By Nature women-only river trip was as excellent for you as it was for us! We spent a week in June in the Moab area on our annual family reunion with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. The fist day was a raft trip on the Colorado River with the Canyonlands Field Institute. Two rafts held the 12 of us. Safety is stressed.
