I took the advanced canyoneering class in Oct'14. There were only two of us in the class, and I felt like I'm getting a 3-day private lesson. Jerome, the instructor, was very professional and knowledgeable. Jerome help me refine some of my canyoneering skills as well as gaining some. I was a little bit skeptical in the beginning with the... More

I must admit that if I could have found a graceful way to get out of our first rappel, I would have taken it. I had signed my husband and myself up for a beginners' canyoneering trip to Ephedra Grotto, because it was something he had always wanted to do. I was less enthusiastic. However, our guide John was both... More

This was my first canyoneering experience and our guide (Dustin) and the others on the trip made for a safe and memorable time. Dustin was patient and encouraging. The trip was Hypatia Canyon with three rappels (130ft drop beside Teardrop Arch, 50ft second rappel, and our last challenge: an exposed 100ft rappel). Challenging but well worth the time!

Wow, we have just had a fantastic afternoon climbing with Joe. Joe took just the two of us out and as complete beginners he taught us well and really put us at ease. His attention to our safety was his primary concern and as such he got the pace spot on so we didn't feel rushed or pressured into doing... More

This was the highlight of the trip through southern Utah. I have never rappelled before but obviously I am a "natural" at it, based on the comments from our team of participants. Our guide John was great; explained the logistics of what all those ropes were about, technique styles, and as we hiked to the Morning Glory Arch and then... More

We are so glad that you enjoyed your trip. If you are ever back in the area you should look into the canyoneering courses we offer on our website: cliffsandcanyons.com. It's a great way to learn the ropes and become more self-sufficient in technical canyoneering. More

Visiting and hiking the National Parks around Moab is great but for a real adventure go on a canyoneering trip with Cliffs and Canyons. I have done two trips with them over the years and they match your skills/ability with the right trip and the guides are excellent. If you want that epic photo for the wall or Facebook book... More

Heather was the guide for my family's first canyoneering and rappelling trip, and she was excellent!! She taught us climbing techniques and was very patient with all of us, especially my 11 year old who needed some extra encouragement during the first rappel. Cliffs and Canyons provided water and snacks, as well as all the equipment you need. They did... More

If you want to get to know the terrain around Moab in an up-close-and-personal way, this is it. Our group of 7 had two guides who took care of the driving, the belaying, advice, encouragement and pictures too. During 3/4 of a day we probably only covered a few miles horizontally but a lot of terrain vertically as we descended... More
