My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Canyonlands Ballooning in September. We booked our flight at short notice and it was well worth it. Piloted by Lou Bartell himself, who gave us an informative running commentary throughout the 45 minute trip. Weather was perfect and the views of the canyons were fabulous. The balloon landing was spectacular too... More

I booked a flight with Canyonlands Ballooning for a family/friends group of eight on my birthday in early October. Although several in our group have "height issues" and one, reluctantly, got recruited at the last minute to take the place of a sick member, Lou's expertise and outgoing hospitality immediately put us all at ease. The weather was gorgeous and... More

First off, my son is afraid of heights but being 17 we thought it would be a good experience. He really loved every minute of it. The views were spectacular and we had perfect weather. I would highly recommend checking the weather forecast before you go, as we chose our day based upon wind speed, wind direction, and weather and... More

Unbelievable view and Lou is an incredible pilot. We took off between two storms—hard rain morning of departure, raindrops seconds after landing. Lou threaded the needle between two weather systems based on viewing the radar that morning with sharp eyes and confident judgement borne of years of experience. It was sunny the whole way. Flying over Arches was a premiere... More

So many people have a fear of heights, this was not scary at all. I truly believe that is because the minute you meet Lou and his crew you feel at ease. The day we went up started off very windy and we had to start our adventure with the basket on its side. It only added to what was... More

View seen on the balloon was not that much great and when we landed, it bumped to the ground several times and we felt that we were not safe that much.

Ballooning over a super cool place has long been on my bucket list. When we planned a trip to Moab, I knew this was the time. Accidents can happen in the air, so I researched a bit and happily found Lou and Canyonlands ballooning. This is a first rate operation. We felt confident in the crew's training and ability to... Fortunate to have sincere host and pilot Lou, complemented by watchful mascot Lodi and attentive friendly team, squeeze a last journey in between storm fronts to close out their season. My wife's bucket list included a hot air balloon ride. This ride met all her expectations. We were not sure we were going to fly because of the wind. Lou and his crew did a good job of keeping us informed of what was going on. Once it was decided we would try Lou did a good job of explaining... More

Lou Bartelle (our host and pilot) is a wonderful guy and made the thrilling experience even more enjoyable. We were witness to the whole event - from the inflation of the balloon to it's dismantling. The ride itself was exhilarating and it's something everyone should try if they have the opportunity. I am terrified of heights, but it was not... More
