We stopped here hoping to kick off a short hike on the trail w the kids - on what turned out to be a super rainy day. The kids worked on the junior ranger program and interviewed a hiker who had stopped in for the day for a break. The staff was amazing and the hikers were gracious enough to... More

Laura (i believe) and the staff were all an amazing help as I planned a 4 day hike from the facility. From choosing the right maps to picking the direction (north or south) on AT, to several intangibles, they made for a well prepared for, and fun trip.

Went in to see what they had to offer, they were very knowledgeable and friendly. Susan at the front desk went out of her way to help, inform, and support all my efforts.

These folks know what they're talking about, and have great information about the trail and the town. Definitely a place to pick up maps and guidebooks, as well as souvenirs.

The kiddos loved him and he shared a lot of knowledge about the AT with them. If you have kids be sure they check out the mini shelter behind the map in the back. My... More

If you know the AT then you know about AT headquarters. Great little shop with excellent selection of maps and books about the AT. Loved the 3D Map in the back.
