After a long day on Madeline Island I was going to check out Judy's. I checked the store hours in a brochure and found out they had just closed and were to be closed the next day, our last day in the area. My husband told me to call and check their hours, so I did. Judy answered and did... More

Pulled over on a whim on our way home from another great family vacation to the Bayfield area. I am sooooo glad we did! Beautiful pies in the case and being made so we could see the freshness and the massive amount of filling being put into them. There were cookies, which I almost bought until I got an Iris... More

By chance we took a road trip and landed up in a gem of a town, Bayfield, WI. Amungst the many pleasant surprises we had in Bayfield, the best was Judy's "Gourmet Garage". We purchased both the apple pie, and the strawberry rhubarb ..... They sat in our car 24 ours before we remembered our purchase ...... Sill the best... More

I heard about this place a year or so ago and finally made it there. We bought a raspberry-peach pie. I've never had a better pie, as good as the filling is the crust I think is the best part. Judy was as friendly as could be and seems to be a wonderful person. We are having an unusual warm... More

My husband and I bought a few pastries and a pie during one visit here while in Bayfield for a week. They were about average in taste. However, the place wasn't open the rest of the time we were there. The two older women running the place are rather cranky. I'd skip it,

Just got back from Bayfield/Washburn weekend....we picked up a freshly baked apple pie ($11.00) on Saturday afternoon and immediately had two big pieces back at our Washburn, WI campgrounds! Flaky crust...delicious apple ...hint of cinnamon on the crust....it is almost gone!

Heard about the bakery but was hard to find. It is at the south end of town on # 13 with a big "PIE" sign on the road. Judy was rolling out her wonderful flaky pie crust. She uses fresh seasonal fruits. We were lucky to have a blueberry and a raspberry turnover with the lightest crust ever. Melts in... More

I had read about Judy's pies in Travel and Leisure magazine and was so excited to find her little shop just outside of downtown Bayfield. We got 3 pies because we couldn't decide, caramel apple, strawberry-rhubarb and raspberry. They were fantastic! Especially the raspberry, there must have been a quart of fresh raspberries in it. This place is a must... More

My best friend and I were on a summer adventure near Bayfield and happened to drive by the Gourmet Garage on our way out of town. My friend had read reviews of the Gourmet Garage before our trip so when we saw the sign for pies she slammed on the brakes, turned around and went back to get a pie.... More

We went to Apple Fest and could NOT find a simple stand that sold homemade baked goods! We looked and looked! On our way out of town we noticed the sign to Judy's Gourmet Garage that said "PIES" and "bakery," so we stopped to load up. I bought a cranberry -apple crisp for my Grandparents and 3 apple dumplings. Needless... More
