Upon arriving in Bayfield, WI yesterday, the last thing on our mind was to hire a private sailing charter. But the couple we were with insisted it would be a great idea, so we reluctantly agreed. We bought a day trip with Dreamcatcher Sailing and soon were introduced to our Captain John Mayers. Our craft was a 36' beauty named... More

We went on the sea caves tour 9/21/13 with Captain Jenn. Despite a lack of wind to sail, we had a marvelous time. Just laying in the sun on the bow while cruising to the caves made for a lovely time. The great thing about no wind was that we were able explore the caves inside and out via the... More

We took the 2 1/2 hour afternoon sail with Captain Jim. No one else had booked so we were the only 2 passengers on the 33' sailboat. It was glorious! Sea Captain Jim was an excellent captain - made the experience a terrific one. We had interesting conversations, some great laughs and an excellent experience. He sensed I was a... More

This is a must do for seeing the Lake Superior, Apostle Islands caves. We also went kayaking to the caves yesterday, which we loved too. But today's trip on the 34 foot Esprit sailboat with Captain Todd was fantastic. We enjoyed today even more than kayaking. This was in part because of superior weather. But Todd launched the dinghy and... More

We really enjoyed our afternoon sail with Dreamcatcher sailing. We just did a short 2 hour sail and would definitely try something longer next time. I really enjoyed being out on the boat and hearing more about the area (and sailing in general) from our captain.

My wife and I had an excellent trip with Captain Jim at the helm, for our sea cave trip. Coming to Lake Superior from Kansas made you think you were sailing on the ocean. As Wisconsonites we had never been to Lake Superior before, and we are glad we made the trip. The only other couple onboard turned out to... More

My husband and I took our 3 kids; ages 6,5, & 3 on the sea caves tour. It was a little more expensive than we anticipated but we really wanted to be able to go into the cave areas. You sail out to the caves and then get into a small dingy to go into the smaller spaces. It's gorgeous.... More

We loved the couple of hours we spent with Jen. She is great with kids, even though my 7 year old is super challenging. She let the older kids sail for awhile. We loved the boat and the views of the islands. Great family excursion!

We took a sailing cruise out of Cornucopia on a Tuesday to go and see the sea caves. It was a little windy out so we did have to motor over but were able to sail our way back which was awesome! We were not able to enter the sea caves due to the waves but had plenty of opportunity... More

We made reservations ahead of time and went out at 3:00pm until 7:00. Loved the evening cruise to the sea caves. In the afternoon the sun is on the caves and they actually change colors. It takes 1 hour to get out there and back. It was so calm that sailing was out of the question most of the time... More

Hello metaksams, Thank you for your lovely review. It sounds like you had a beautiful evening to visit the mainland sea caves! Not much wind but what's good for sailing isn't always good for getting into the caves; glad you got a bit of both. Thanks for sailing with us on your travels and enjoy the rest of your summer!...
