Virginia Hirsch and her many able tour guides do wonderful tours of Bayfield, Wisconsin. Featuring the history, ghost tales, architecture, and cemetories of Bayfield, and surrounding environs, and the queen: Lake Superior. She,and her guides talk of native American tales, ghost stories, treasures, ship wrecks, fishing tales, interesting archectural sites, the moving of the county seat, and World War Two... More

Our walking historic tour with Nellie Tate was very informative and worthwhile. We loved it and would do it again.

A group of us, ranging in ages from 9 - adult, did the Ghost Walk. It was lots of fun, and the kids especially liked carrying the lanterns. Not too scary, but scary enough. The tour guide was a great storyteller, and we also learned some history of the area. Definitely would do another of the tours.

Recently visited Sept 2012. Lasts for 1 hour - walks a mile around the local streets and stops at a few houses to talk about ghosts that might have inhabited those houses in the past and those that are still around. Stories from home owners and things that happened. We took the lantern tour and it was great. My wife... More

We went on the Tall Sails and Fish Tales walk and enjoyed the stories. The Heritage staff are always great in character and it's great to hear the history of the town and its people. We had gone on the Ghost walks in the past which were even better!

We did the tour at 7:45 and each of us got a lantern and lit them. We would walk through the town, maybe a block and she would stop as we would all gather around her, she would tell the story of the home or some were to far but would tell us 3 blocks up this road.......this happened. It... More

We took are 7 & 8 year-old sons on the Ghost Tour. Had an enjoyable time, good "campfire" stories that entice but do not scare kids. Recommend for a good family activity.

These tours are fun additions to the Bayfield experience. I took my nephews last year for the Ghost Walk and this year for More Ghosts. The experience is lighthearted and only slightly spooky after it starts to get dark. The tour guide takes on the persona of one of the characters in the stories (with costume and everything), which is... More

Grabbed a cone and walked to the library for a ghost tour. We purchased discount tickets the day before in the Bayfield chamber of commerce (near the egg toss). Everyone arrived on time (20 minutes early) and we were greeted by our tour guide (dead 40 years now). She was wonderful, only talked about tips once, and gave us candle... More
