Mile-long Baker Beach lies at the foot of rugged serpentine cliffs west of the Golden Gate. Large waves, undertow and rip currents make the beach unsafe for swimming, but it provides panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and Lands End. You can fish or check out the shorelife along the beach and rocky shoreline. Restrooms and picnic tables are nearby.

Stunning view of the Golden Gate bridge - I wish I could have stayed all day instead of just the morning. Parking didn't seem to be an issue, although we were there mid-week. Bring a lunch and relax!

Although sometimes it gets people busy-i come here quite often, just to be at ease, great panoramic views, from lands-end to the Marin headlands, many ships pass Thur the Golden Gate, birds, sea life, sea lions, pelicans-and a mermaid or two... (snicker, snicker, chuckle)

Lovely! The views are gorgeous!! The north end is a nude beach, surprisingly enough to us New Englanders who only take our clothes off to bathe (periodically) and then maniacally throw them back on again ASAP. Great views of the GG bridge!

This beach has a great view of the golden gate. It's a nice place to catch some sun and hang out. There are bathrooms and picnic tables. Worth checking out!

Baker Beach is a nice beach, but SF is rarely warm and there are a lot of other attractions in the City better than Baker Beach. If you really want to go to the beach, I believe Marin County to the North or San Mateo County to the South has much better beaches ... even Ocean Beach has more attractions.

During the warmer season in San Francisco (August-September) and also on less warm days the area is generally temperate in comparison, this area can be a popular location for local families, and some visitors who are "in-the-know". A picturesque view of the San Francisco Bay toward the ocean, and the Marin Headlands. Toward the end of the day, temperature may... More

Visited beach in November and was in awe of the views. I walked the beach to the end and found some old nudie tribe to be very territorial. One old fat nude guy just stared at passers by like they were walking through his yard. Walked back to a more moderate area by some stairs and felt more comfortable. Was... More

Most tourists see the bay in SF - this is a great place to see the ocean and view the bridge from the ocean side.

Great view and one of the few private areas around but wouldn't recommend for families as nude or mostly nude male sunbathers are in prominent area of beach
