I picked up a brochure from the concierge at Ghiradelli Square. No reservations were needed so we just turned up at 10.55 am at the corner of Union Square opposite to Saks. Jay Gifford showed up on time holding a yellow sign. We were a group of 6.He took us by bus to Cow Hollow and later plush Pacific Heights.... More

Very enjoyable tour with a very experienced guide. Jay was prompt and took a group of about 10 of us on the tour. We started at Union Square and got on a bus to our destination. Fun walking tour with a lot to see and much inside information. Others explained the tour well and there are great reviews but we... More

I discovered a brochure for Jay Gifford’s Victorian Home Walks when I was already in San Francisco. I’d sussed out that tour busses were banned from going into the streets where many of the city’s best Painted Ladies (multi-coloured houses) were to be seen, and Jay’s tour offered a new opportunity. He showed up at 10.55 next morning on the... More

Pitch-perfect-- both the fascinating glimpse at gorgeous Victorians and Jay Gifford's effortlessly mesmerizing delivery. We were four on this tour, including a toddler in a stroller and a husband who wasn't sure what he was getting into. It ended up being the highlight of our trip. While the unique architecture and stellar views are certainly breathtaking, it is Jay's polished... More

This was a thoroughly enjoyable walking tour. Tour Guide - Jay was so interesting and engaging. He imparted so much information with a real passion for the area and readily answered our questions. The walk around the streets was easy and with plenty of stops to take photos and admire the buildings. Well worth doing!

Jay was very knowledgeable and kept our interest the whole tour. The walk was easy and the route taken was very interesting. We saw many of the beautiful homes in the Pacific Heights district. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to hear about the history of San Francisco and see the beautiful and famous homes.

My sister and I decided to do this walking tour with Jay our last day in San Fran and we are so glad we did. Jay is very knowledgeable and interesting and we learned so much about the different styles of houses. A definite must do when visiting San Francisco.

We did the Victorian Walk with Jay this morning and we really enjoyed it. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his city and its architecture. We have visited the city three times in total previously and had not done this tour before. Get off those boring tour buses and see the city from the pavement I would recommend Jay... More

This was a great walking tour. We never had to walk uphill! Quite a feat in San Francisco. Jay was amazing. He is a long time resident of SF and his pride in the city showed. We walked past "The Painted Ladies" as well as homes of movie stars with Jay giving us the scoop. I highly recommend this tour.

This walking tour with Jay Gifford answered so many of my questions about the history of the city and its architecture. And also answered plenty we would never have thought of. In addition to the architecture, there were homes of famous people, movie sites, and fun stories of previous occupants. We were two teenagers, two grandmothers, and one middle adult,... More
