This was for a June 30 visit. My family and I went on the San Francisco/Muir Woods tour. The San Francisco tour was great. It was well paced and the guide took time to answer our questions and let us explore. We also participated in a guided hike down into the Muir Woods. That was a totally different experience. though... More

An early morning start found taking a cab to the Ferry Building to board a shuttle for Emeryville. The tour ran on time and we met our Amtrak train in Emeryville. We had a smooth three hour ride-complete with comfortable chairs, table, food, bathroom, and rural scenery. We switched to a shuttle, driven by Jonathan, to the valley floor. He... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We only had one day in the city and wanted to see as much as we could. This tour did not disappoint. We had a guided tour through all of the highlights. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it.

I had previously done a San Francisco Walking Tour, but this time my 75 year old mother was with me. We are so glad we chose the SF Shuttle Tours. Linda was our guide, but the entire staff was so friendly and kind. We got some great pictures, made it to a lot of the major sights, and very much... More

Reading the website & their complaints about the impersonal nature of large bus tours that might have 70-80 people, I expected this to be a smaller tour. Having a small bus packed with 40 was not my idea of a more personal touch. Trying to do guided walks with 40 does not work. Bottom line is that I expected better.

Monday 22nd June 2015 We met our guide Cary, who drove us over the fog shrouded Golden Gate Bridge into the Napa Valley, where bright sunshine smiled upon us. Wine farms are currently selling at $1,000,000 an acre and at those prices, it is impossible to grow sufficient wine to break even, so celebrities are the only purchasers. Our first... More

I had Cary as my tour guide! He was fabulous! He was very entertaining with his guided tour of San Francisco while we drive in the shuttle. Cary was very knowledgable and friendly! The wineries you stop at are all her unique from one another. It gives you wide range of the Napa valley experience! The trip was not bad... More

This tour was well organized from the moment we booked. The meeting spot was easy to find and our guide was outstanding. Phillip (Phil) isn't just a driver but a great tour guide. He provided interesting facts along the drive and took the time to get to know his guests. The guides at the wineries also knew Phil and seemed... More

We took the Premium City Tour with Alcatraz in the afternoon. Our tour guide (Kyra??) was extremely knowledgable and helpful with extra things to do in the city. I loved that we went to a non-touristy place for a private viewing of the GG Bridge. Perfect amount of time at each stop. Would highly recommend for travelers!

Guide was very informative on our trip to Muir Woods. However, I wouldn't recommend the basic trip to Muir Woods as it was pretty boring once we got off the shuttle and on our own. The only thing fun about the trip was the ride to Muir Woods. The premium city tour probably would have been awesome or even Napa... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
