Arrived at noon on Saturday . Told an hours wait for upstairs ( definitely stay upstairs) we sat at the bar to wait and indulged in a superbly balanced Bloody Mary and tasty tangy potstickers(love that dipping sauce) and an Irish coffee made with homemade, hand whipped cream ( enough to make an Irishman weep) the time flew by and... The cliffhouse /sutro district is eerie and dreamy. We went on a foggy morning may 2014 and had breakfast at the cliffhouse. We initially made the trip to that side of SF to see the sutro baths but once we saw the beautiful cliffhouse restaurant we couldn't pass it up. We had breakfast by the window to the sound of... You cannot beat the location. The view is phenomenal and if you have time a walk around the grounds of this historic site is worth it. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities and the cliff house should be a must see on your list. We had thanksgiving dinner and went early enough that we were seated promptly. The... More

The Cliff House, Seal Rocks, Lands End, Sutro Bath is located at the far western end of Geary Blvd. There is much to see from the Cliff House, the ruins of the old Sutro Bath, and looking out at Seal Rocks. Parking can be difficult. After your visit, I would recommend visiting the local neighborhood (Outer Richmond) to eat. The... More

I really wanted to give this place a "three" --- it is after all just three restaurant venues and a bar in a new building --- but when all is said and done, you should visit the Cliff House (even if it is not for a meal) when you visit San Francisco. First off --- there is not much to... More

Food is great. Service is great. Friendly staff. The dinner special includes a main entree, vegetables, salad, and a bottle of wine for two from 4-6 PM. Well worth the price.

You are paying to enjoy the view and history, but the clam chowder is good too. Generally its a stop on the iconic SFO tour, far more enjoyable on a sunny day when the Farallon Islands are visible. You can always see some seals and in the fall an occasion passing Whale or two. Do read up about the history... More
