All kinds of produce, ready-made foods, fun things from which to choose! Set with a backdrop of the Embarcadero, Bay, it's a great Saturday morning excursion!

The live, organic produce is simply outstanding and tasty. Check out Francesca's Fresh Produce where you'll find the best organic, unpasteurized, natural almonds. They are extraordinary delicious! Overall, the farmers market offers the "good stuff" from earth.

Well represented by local farmers and local vendors. Out standing products. A must visit if in San Francisco on any Saturday.

I accidentally stumbled upon this Farmers Market this past weekend and I am so glad I did. There were SO many different vendors. All the delicious fruits and vegetables were reasonably priced and the samples were amazing.

...it has the best prices, the greatest variety of produce, and the most vendors. Much better and fresher produce than in supermarkets. Yes, it is in the infamous "Tenderloin" district, but so are many SF wonderful places (Asian Art Museum, main library, concert halls...) and visitors just need to use common sense as in any big city. The market is... More

San Francisco's Farmers market has the freshest fruits and vegetables. Great place to spend a Saturday and eat lunch. We had the most delicious chicken sandwiches, roasted corn salad, and roasted potatoes. Then spent a couple of hours walking along the pier.

We walked through here on Wednesday morning and what a treat! Indescribable amount of high quality produce and locally made products. We had a fabulous time just walking through and trying the samples that everyone handed out. We didn't find many samples at the Ferry Building market. Fruit just picked, candy just made, even kim chee just pickled! Amazing. Great... More

Visitors to this amazing outdoor market at the United Nations Plaza and the Civic Center BART station find a cornucopia of fresh crops. All of it is grown locally although how far away a farm can be and yet still count as local is a puzzle. Among the bounty in the vendors’ stalls and bins are herbs, figs, dates, nuts,... More

I was completely amazed by the variety and quality of the offerings here. It's not in the best area, (the Tenderloin) so most won't come anywhere near it, but definitely a can't miss if you do! I wish our farmer's markets were even half of what this one was. Definitely try to go if you can, it's worth it.

Loved this place for so many reasons. Great atmosphere - bustling with people of all backgrounds and ages. Great food - fantastic fruit and veg, flowers, proper cheese, olives, bread. Free samples to try and food stalls to snack at. And great ethic about bring produce from small farmers at reasonable prices into the 'food desert' of the city. Had... More
