Quiet and piece in Golden Gate park

The memorial is awesome, a great place to visit while in Golden Gate park, we have nothing like it in Brazil. I loved the peace and quiet.

At the northern part of this huge Golden Gate Park is hidden this memorial grove, one dedicated to those suffering from AIDS and those who're fighting against it. Walking down a few steps, I saw a shrine-like open ground in the middle in a size of four basketball courts. On its two longer edges are religiously grown bushes, which I... More

This is a sobering meander along the hillside. Relax and enjoy the quiet places for reflection. Very near the lawn bowling.

This space is freaking awesome. I wish we had anything like this in Houston. The park is very large, with amazing spaces created to honor the loved ones we have lost to AIDS.

The spot serves as a poignant memorial, but I also found it to be the most peaceful setting we found in the park. Difficult to locate, but this creates a sense of solitude within the busy surroundings of the park so I felt this was a purposeful design. Within the shade of the grove, if you are in the right... We entered Golden Gate Park from Haight St. so this might be why it took us a while to find, but once we did find it, it was worth it. It's a beautiful memorial of the lives taken by AIDS. It has a cute little shaded area covered by trees and plenty of seating to enjoy. I wished we had... More

We were wandering around and stumbled on the Grove. There was a family who was obviously standing around remembering a woman they clearly loved who they had lost to AIDS. Wow. It really was moving to see the space used how it was intended.

This is one of my favorite nooks in Golden Gate Park. Wonder through the garden. Take a lunch and sped time reading in the meadow. Very peaceful.
