I love walking and enjoy nature. It was a wonderful walk. I recommend it if you think of going to the bay area.

My daughter and I took a bus to the park and spend about three hours walking around it. Some really nice area's and trails to walk along. Also we took in the Japanese tea garden. You do have to pay extra to go in - $8.00 each but we found it well worth the $8.00. It was beautiful to walk... More

It's like the Disneyland of parks. So many different things to see. Playground, hiking, biking. Then got the botanical gardens, the Japanese tea house. Can see the SF PDC on horseback. Fountains, even a waterfall. If get a chance you really should go explore this place

At the far East end of the park there is a great little bike shop. Rent a bike, plot a course on your phone, pick up some sourdough bread and some cheese along with some wine or bottled water and spend the day roaring,,, oh be sure to bring a jacket... the fog comes in around 3 and it will... More

Golden Gate Park gives an escape within the city that rivals any urban park we have visited. There are so many activities without the crowds like Central Park in NYC. As original East Coast people who have been living in the Midwest for several decades, we fully loved walking amidst the Western flora. There are so many points of interest,... More

Prepare your time if you go there with kids as they want to stay there whole day. Just walking around or relaxing while kids enjoy their playground. Japanese tea garden is lovely.

Japanese tea garden beautiful but food/water expensive. Many activities there - check them out online before going there.

The California Academy of Sciences is very special. Could spend several days there. The deYoung Museum of Fine Arts is exquisite. The park itself has so much to offer, something for everyone! I believe it is larger than New York's Central Park.

We walked the coastal road and enjoyed the beach area Lots of folks jogging, biking, surfing, and flying kites. We started at the Cliff House and walked to the Beach Chalet. The park had an old Dutch windmill and beautiful flower gardens.

Sure, there are plenty of cultural attractions where you can happily spend your money in this park, but we spent 4-5 hours just walking around it and chatting, and it was just as much fun. A highlight was the (free) rose garden where we smelled over 20 types of roses, including one called "Julia Child" which smelled exactly like butter!... More
