I visited Golden Gate Park after visiting the Bridge. It is an easy bus ride (MUNI) to the southern edge of the park (Lincoln and 19th Street). The park is HUGE and beautiful! I walked to Stow Lake and hiked around some of the trails. I also stumbled upon Huntington Falls which were beautiful. I walked from Stow Lake along... More

We spent half a day here. I had my 2 daughter's with me ages 8 and 10. They spent at least 3 hours at the Koret Children's Quarter Park. They have a slide there where you use a piece of cardboard sliding over sand and concrete. I thought that was one of the coolest slides I have ever seen. It's... More

We came to the park via the hop on/off trolley (double decker bus) tour. You can spend days ion the park, as there is so much to do. We mainly stayed near the Academy of Science and food trucks this time around. We have gone to the Japanese Tea Garden in the past, and really enjoyed the beauty of it... More

We had a really nice day at the Golden Gate Park. The paddle boats are lots of fun if you have children. Life jackets are supplied. There are also row boats for those who prefer them. While paddling along you're able to see many turtles sunning themselves. Really pleasant way to spend the day.

I think there is something for everyone in Golden Gate Park. There is art. There are beautiful gardens. There are museums. There are beautiful lakes. Numerous walking trails and food vendors. This expansive park is a great place to spend a couple of days exploring without the need to spend a lot of money. The paid attractions, such as the... More

Nice city park. You could actually take a shuttle to go around the park, which, at 4.1 km2, is impossible to conquer on foot.

Fantastic walk from Japanese Garden to Ocean Beach - takes you some time to walk this far! Amazing plants and scenes to see as you do the walk - great photography opportunities. Bison Park was disappointing - looks very run down and surely can be improved. I has been so excited to see my first bison and this was a... More

Nice place but they nickle and dime you to death. Worth the trip - tried to take the free weekend bus to the ocean but the driver kept going in circles for some reason. If we had time I'd rent a bike which are available in the park.

Another must-go place in SF. The park is great, big and with a lot of interesting thinks to see there. Doesn't have the charm of the NY uptown building from behind the trees like in Central park, but the park is in certain way even more beautiful than the NY one.

We know most of the large municipal parks in the United States and Golden Gate park still has most of them beaten. Running more than three miles from Stanyan Street to the Ocean, it is almost the same width as New York's Central Park but is about half a mile longer. While it doesn't have the Metropolitan Museum of Art... More
