Golden gate park is a huge green area with lots of things to see. You better have a map to pan your activities there. Biking will probably be a very good idea.

A very well maintained park for one and an extensive one. If you plan a trip here, a stop at the Conservatory of Flowers is a must. The entry to the park is free but these couple of areas will require you to shell out 7-8$. If you are going with kids, please plan for a whole day and spend... More

Good bus journey from the centre and even on a beautiful day, I can't see the huge attraction. Nice green spaces and the Japanese gardens are pretty, but I wldnt go out of my way

You don't have to go to the north side to get photos. On the south side just before you cross the bridge is perfect. You'll find a small visitor's center ... you'll probably never find parking. Leave the center, turn left at the T and pull into the gravel lot. Took great pix there.

This is an all year round area, whether you are walking or cycling there is plenty to see and do. The Dahilia Garden is delightful as is the rose garden. We were fortunate that on one of our many visits there we were able to here a live music concert, which a local radio company had organised, parking in the... More

Great place for a run, rollerblading or biking. Boat rental and plenty of ducks, fish and turtles. Also a somewhat hidden golf course (9 holes par 3) which is really affordable. The along to the Pacific coast and the Cliff House.

We walked around the whole of Golden Gate Park. The top portion of it houses all of the galleries, museums and gardens and is very pleasant to stroll around. As you descend down the hill towards the beach it just becomes a very generic park with nothing much to offer. The bison are just plain dull too, I wouldn't waste... More

There is a lot to do in this park which is bigger than central park so allow plenty of time if you want to fully experience what it has to offer. We took the bus to the Stow Lake area and walked around for a few hours, but this park has much more which we will have to explore next... More

We saw the japanese tea garden and the california acedemy of sciences at the park. The japenses tea garden was amaxing vies with a calm relaxing atmosphere. The Acedemy of scienes was Ok if you have been to lots of these types give this one a miss (better the exploratorium) the best part was the planetarium.
