Have never seen so much gorgeous food and very inexpensive! The fruit was incredible and I bought a bunch to bring back for a snack at the hotel. Loved all the artisans and the set up. You are lucky if you are local! Go as early as you can- crowd gets bigger and bigger.

Visited a few times during our 3 day visit - the best visit was Saturday when the farmers market was on. Absolutely brilliant. We also stopped for a drink at Market Bar on our first night, and were able to sit outside and people watch along the Embarcadero. Good options for breakfast as well.

So disappointed here, we had heard that it was touristy but didn't expect it to be so down at heel. Lots of crazies around, clearly not on this planet, we didn't stay long here

Visited on a Saturday on the way to a baseball game. Fantastic selection of eateries and shops. Was absolutely packed and then quietened down. Would suggest walking through enjoying the experience and sampling. Then choose what you are going to eat. Lots of favourites. Loved Humphrey Slocombe, Blue Bottle Coffee, Dandelion Chocolate and Cowgirl Creamery. So much more too! Don't... More

We loved our Saturday morning exploring the market place. We caught the trolley, which was really pleasant - as parking a car would probably have been pretty impossible. The food was plentiful - we sampled and bought both sweet and savoury delights. If I lived in San Francisco I would come here regularly to buy the amazing produce. Don't miss... More

We come from a city with great farmer's markets, so I was skeptical this would be a good use of time. Totally had it wrong. The market on a Saturday morning is super fun. Ferry Plaza is fun as it is, but combined with a huge Farmer's Market, it is superb. Plenty of really good food, coffee and juices. The... More

We had walked over from harbor court hotel. Second tent was sampling corn pizza. Would never have thought corn on a pizza would be good. It was! Got a plate of scrambled eggs, applewood bacon and tomatoes on a baguette. Very good. Saw lots of varieties of fruit and vegetables. Lots of people though, so go early.

It's great venue for all things Californian with a huge range of stalls and food to try and buy. It's busy so best get there early but it is certainly worth a visit even if it's just to take in the smells and sights.

I went on a Saturday, and sampled lots of fresh fruit, among other things some delicious pluots which were a completely new aquaintance. Had great taco at one of the stalls, as well as some good fruit drinks. It's all about kale in San Francisco, it seems - and a lot of the specialty hipster organic stuff was very expensive.... More

This market has class and a broad range of fantastic local product and produce...fresh produce, olive oil, meats, fish, breads, coffee, cheese, confectionery and ice cream not to mention loads of other thoroughly interesting local products. Restaurants are also great.
