My mother and I visited the Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market on August 1st, a Saturday morning. We took the BART train from the Mission District to the Embarcadero and walked down Market Street a short way to the market. The market is easily accessible by MUNI bus, BART train and MUNI historic street cars. We arrived shortly after they opened... More

We go to the Farmers Market by the Ferry Building in San Francisco. They have a variety of hot food as well as fruits, vegetables and other food for purchase. Today was the week before the Superbowl. We went on a Thursday. Its a fun market place for both locals and visitors.

Lots of good choices to eat where you don't have mass produced food restaurants like Fisherman's Wharf. Recommend a a visit and its an easy walk to Financial District.

The Farmer's Market on Saturday at the Ferry Plaza is beyond amazing! Oh, to only be able to take a huge box of things on the airplane! Even if you buy very little, the experience is well worth the trip. It would be a chef's dream shopping excursion!

We went to the farmers market before Alcatraz. Just don't eat breakfast before! The queues for coffee are pretty long but the produce is pretty amazing. The salt caramel dark chocolate almond brittle is amazing. New also bought organic dried peaches and candy cured salmon.

The location of this market makes it a bit inconvenient for grocery shopping, but you won't find a better selection of products anywhere else. Tourists will love the variety of sampling and tasting, and might even enjoy a bag of fresh fruit. As an East Bay resident, I can't imagine traveling across the Bay Bridge or by Bart to come... The farmer's market is one of the best place I visited in San Francisco because I am a food lover, cooking and baking enthusiast. The market only operates twice a week, one of them a Saturday. Go there early to give you time to look around and enjoy the food tasting as they will begin to close in the afternoon.... More

Shop side-by-side famous chefs and their truck size carts at the City’s bountiful Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. In addition to the plethora of fresh organic produce to choose from, other offerings include pastries, coffee, cheeses, nuts, flowers and juices. And, numerous booths prepare hot tasty food to eat on site or takeaway. From the Embarcadero setting to the incomparable gourmet... More
