Lots of room for dogs to run and explore off leash. This is a place you can go to again and again and still find areas you didn't know about before. Lots of trails, beach access, so many socialized dogs and happy dog people!

Amazing off leash hiking and beaching with your dog, avoid on weekends though. The most beautiful off leash area in the Bay Area. Couple of things to watch out for: a) the currents are STRONG, keep small dogs out of the surf -- splashing around in on waters edge is ok but stay close, especially at high tide b) 95%... More

Fort Funston is beautiful. It's a popular spot for hang gliders (it's very windy) and dog walkers. The long climb down to the beach affords some pretty spectacular views of the Pacific. You'll see dogs running free and people riding horses. The waves look fairly rough and the water is pretty cold, so I wouldn't advise swimming.

On a clear day (!), we visited with our two young boys. Easy parking and nice hike down to beach. Hang gliders added to fun. Then we got to the beach, where a few dozen dogs were running around without leashes. Some were fighting, and the owners were largely oblivious. One dog started playfully chasing our six year old, who... More

This is a great beach for dogs and people alike as it is an off leash area. Visiting in the early morning can be very relaxing before the too many people start showing up. Take your dog there, they'll love you.

We went there on Sunday morning, around 11am, not hard to find parking space. But when we left at around 2pm, a lot of cars were coming in and spots were filled up. The best off leash places for dogs in the bay area so far, hands down. All the dogs and people we met there are friendly, and the... More

Love the wild ocean and beach here! Dog and people watching is excellent, too. Please remember to bring clean up bags if you take your dog! Watch for occasional aggressive dogs and dead things on the beach. Both can ruin your day! Keep an eye out for horses, and be ready to leash your dog if there's a chance that... More

Stopped here on our way out of San Francisco and were so glad we did. We had plenty of time before our flights and this was a great stop to make on the long way to the airport via Half Moon Bay. It took us about 20 minutes from Union Square to get here and got a chance to see... More

I took my son's roommates dog here and it was fantastic! Beautiful views of the ocean and lots of dogs running and just being dogs. Can't wait to go back! Wish I could bring my own dog here
