I come here to rejuvenate. Best yet, I take my paw kids here so they can run freely. Fort Funston is an "off leash" dog beach. It has miles and miles of ocean beach front where you can truly take your dogs to socialize, play, run, and explore. It will also give you a an excellent cardio workout. The view... More

This is a really fun spot to take a walk with your dog, with lots of paths and sandy spots for fido to frisk about off leash. It is hilly so your dog should get nice and tired.

We walked down the trail leading to the beach and noticed most pups were already off leash since they arrive in the parking lot. We are not so trusting of our two siberian huskies lol their recall isnt great and they are high energy fluffbutts that will run for days! Once we were at the beach everyone was off leash... More

If you love dogs and want a great walk/scenery this is the place for you. If the wind is up you can watch the hang gliders all around the cliffs.

Although it's always windy here, it's a fun place to hike around the bluffs above the beach. Great for dogs as well!

My friend and I went hang gliding at Fort Funston. The park is beautiful and dog friendly. If you go hang gliding, ask about good times of the year to go for a good windy day.

Perfect spot for hang gliding, with beautiful views over the coast and the sea. You can hike the trail all the way down to the beach, and watch the daring hang gliders use the thermal currents and soar in the sky.

Brought our puppy here for the first taste of the ocean. It's a very picturesque spot, not too far from the city (allow extra time for traffic at certain hours). It's very dog-friendly, and you will see many dogs on and off leash. On the day we were there, they were all well behaved. The hike down to the beach... More

Nice to be out in nature and simultaneously have views of the city AND the pacific. Lots of dogs, but mostly, amazingly well behaved.
