Even people with a tired gait are still energized by this unique bit of Heaven. You cannot help, but to see how the dogs, the birds and the kids are running, or scooting, or flitting about, until they literally drop on their butts, anxious to get back to the fun. The beach is lovely, but mind the horses and the... More

This is an excellent recreational area for paragliding enthusiast and hikers. It also offers beautiful landscape and seascape. The view from the observation deck down to the shore is really exceptional and breathtaking, as if you are in the edge of the earth. You can also find some sort of military bankers or weapon unused. Private car is a must... More

despite the very full parking lot, there are lots of trails and ways to have your own privacy to enjoy the sunset or beach. Hike along the bluff or down on the beach. Trails abound and many are thru the soft sand, so bring shoes that work for that.

We were so pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful dog park this is. We also like the fact that there are so many miles of walking paths and the sunset views from the cliffs are so beautiful! Cannot wait to go back and take the dog for a great run.

I love this little gem of a place. There are a lot of people with dogs there, but there is plenty of space for everyone. What you can see there: paragliding, huge beautiful sand dunes, amazing trees and nature, exceptional views of the beach/ocean. You can spend the whole day there if you wish. There aren’t any places to eat... More

I walk my dogs everyday there: Dog Walkers and individuals go there and enjoy the hills and the clear skys and ocean air: It is an off lease park!!!!!!! dogs are free to roam and chase each other: Beware of the cliffs as some dogs have ran off the cliffs and had to be rescued: There is a nude beach... A beautiful spot overlooking the ocean, about 100 feet above the beach. It is a very popular spot for hangliding, as the winds can carry the flyer hundreds of feet above the cliff. Lots of free parking and and excellent place for an afternoon picnic,

We drove down to SF to get away from the triple-digit heat of the Sacramento area and arrived around 1:00 on the Fourth of July. There was plenty of parking available. We brought our small dog and headed out over the cliffs towards the beach. The hang-gliders overhead looked liked giant dragonflies or angels, quietly observing the earthlings. What a... More

I'm a dog lover although I don't own a dog myself. Fort Funston was the perfect place for me to get to see and pet dogs of every breed. There are so many dogs and their owners who walk there, especially on the weekends. Fort Funston is also great for hang gliding. We took an hour long walk on the... More

Best place we visited in San Francisco. Beautiful ocean views from the observation deck. Yes this is a place where dogs are allowed off the leash but none of the dogs bothered us and I love animals. When we were there there were hang gliders about which was a really cool sight to see. We took the walk down to... More
