We have created a state-of-the-art banya in which we offer services and a place to revitalize bodies and relax minds. It is a place to meet with old friends, make new ones, or have a quite time just for you refreshing and energizing yourself. Archimedes Banya is a remarkable blend of 'past and present', where ancient traditions of Greek laconica, Turkish hammam, German thermen, Russian banya, etc combine with science and technology to create an experience like no other. Detoxing in perfect heat rooms, plunging in an ice-cold pool, enjoying a breathtaking view on a sun-lit deck, conversing over a delicious meal - you can have it all in a quintessentially San Francisco style. And yet there is more. Famous venik platza, a rich pallet of massages, scrubs, wraps, herbal and mineral baths will help you leave behind the worries of your day and explore new sources of energy.

I really enjoyed my visit to this spa. There are an assortment of steam rooms, saunas, a small pool, cold bath, showers, a jacuzzi and my favorite- the Japanese soaking tub. I got a body scrub while I was there which was great. We were there at night and definitely enjoyed the view from the roof deck. I didn't try... More

How can you try a spa that won't let you take a tour before you buy? The only way to determine overall cleanliness is to see it in action. As someone who has enjoyed spas world wide I have never been refused a look-see until going to Archimedes. Heck even the YMCA offers prospective new clients tours of their facilities).... More

Went to Archimedes Banya last Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend. We have both been to Harbin a few times and love it, so we were anxious to try this local version. We were not disappointed. The baths and saunas were all very clean and inviting. We rotated between the steam room, sauna and hot bath, with a cold plunge between... More

I love Archimedes Banya! It's located in Bayview-Hunter's Point with absolutely nothing around it; it's a trek from downtown SF but trust me, this is a good thing. The Banya is an oasis and if it were in any other part of SF, it would be overrun by hipsters or marina peeps or stressed-out FiDi workers, and as it is,... More

Anyone familiar with European thermal baths and saunas will think they are back in the "old" country when they visit Archimedes Banya -- who knew such a place existed here in the U.S? The facilities, everything from Russian sauna to a Turkish steam bath and rooftop terrace with a million-dollar view is well-described on their site and in other reviews... More

I absolutely love Banya for its cleansing experience. The facility is wonderful. There are two Russian-type saunas with semi-dry steam, one Finnish sauna with dry steam and a Turkish steam room. The level of cleanliness is superb. The staff are friendly, and supportive of every need of a customer. There is a bar where one can get a bite to... More

I've enjoyed going to Harbin Hot Springs for years. But sometimes I don't have the time or energy to make the two-hour drive and I wished that there was some place similar in San Francisco. This place fits that bill! It not only has an authentic Russian banya, Finnish sauna, Turkish hamman, Japanese onsen and other pools and plunges, but... More

We were excited to try this new Bay Area wellness destination billed as "beyond spa-ing" and an international tour of social bathing traditions from around the world. I loved the artwork and the adventure of it all. I was nervous about trying my first banya -- complete with a oak leaf body treatment in a gorgeous steam room, but we... More
