My first visit, I am a San Francisco native, grew up as a teenager in the exact area, Bayview, as a teen making $2.00 hour. I am now 55, still supporting all local businesses and passing the word along, even though I no longer live in the city! I had a thought to check out Speakeasy on my way home... More

We went to the Speakeasy as we journeyed through the breweries of San Francisco. Located in a somewhat industrial area.. the place was dark and fun. Nice bartenders who poured wonderful tastings of their own beer... my friends like the "Big Daddy" and "Prohibition" while I enjoyed the the "Scarlett". No food served, only great atmosphere and freshly brewed beer.... More

I travel a lot to San Francisco but this was the first time I went to Speakeasy. It's exactly in a very exciting area of San Francisco (near Candlestick Park) so it's not very easy to get to it by public transportation like the BART but it does have a bus stop right out side. The tap room is only... More

My wife and I were looking for something to do for a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon. We had heard of Speakeasy before, looked it up and headed out to a very industrial part of SF. The building is barely marked, and quite easy to miss. I parked in a small parking lot, and say a makeshift sign... More

This place is almost hidden...away from the chaos of downtown, I wasn't sure what to expect while driving through the streets of what looked like mostly industrial businesses. Then out pop the eyes of the logo and what a pleasant surprise. If you've never been to a tap room it's very different from a bar, almost like wine tasting only... More

Not too hoppy, with a roasted malt flavor and a hint of spice.

To start, I might be biased simply because I love independent, underground breweries but Speakeasy is awesome. We went for their tasting that they have on Fridays from 4- 9 pm (I think they're also open on Saturdays now). My brother and cousin go frequently but this was a first for me and apparently they're pretty legendary in San Francisco.... More

This particular night the tastings from 12oz on there specialty beers to 16oz on there house brands was only $2 Usually it is $3 which is still a great deal!. Yes, you are... More

Brewery located in a warehouse in an off the beaten track part of San Francisco. Known for their "Prohibition Ale", this brewery has a number of other craft beers worth tasting. The tour itself is short and informative. There were 7 beers to taste on a recent Friday evening, including the chocolate beer Sutro Stout, which was really good. Purchase... More
