We went on the gray line tour of Monterey and Carmel from Sn Fran and we were incredibly disappointed with the driver. He talked incessantly, omitting many points of interest, but discussing his own views on the people who lived on pebble beach, cost of living, and what amounts to people of means, etc... For a 12 hour day, it... More

Guides are knowledgeable and really go out of their way to make the tours great. We learned a great deal about the city and surrounding areas. Stay away from the hop on and offs!

We were at the golden hate bridge in a rental car. The bus driver wanted in front of us but we couldn't let him in because of the way he was parked so he tried to ram us. He got behind us and started blowing the horn. He got out of his bus and walked up to our car. He... More

We rode these buses all around for two days and saw all of San Francisco. We never waited more than 10 min for a bus and they were were funny and informative. The bus does a big circle thus if you ae at stop 4 and want to get back to stop 1 you have to ride the entire loop... More

We booked our open top bus tour and Alcatraz combo ticket months in advance. The deal that we got seemed to offer the best value for money from the raft of options that were available. We assumed that given the 'Gray Line' brand associated with the 'Open City Tour' we'd made the right choice. On reflection we hadn't. Things got... More

My husband, myself and our four teenage grandchildren booked the two-day city tour and thought it was fantastic. Misha, our tour-guide was a BLAST and he engaged everyone he possibly could with his narrative, making everyone feel included and welcome. He was knowledgeable about the city and made it so interesting you wanted to get off and explore every single... More

We had just 1 full day in San Francisco so spent Independence day on a Gray Line hop on hop off bus which we found ideal. We did one full circuit with Matt who was a great guide - full of energy, enthusiasm and interesting facts. It was bitterly cold and foggy so views were limited over Golden Gate and... More

We had one day in SF after a Wedding. As we have been there many time before (but not with the new baby) we were looking for a way to get around the city in comfort, but still be outside. We picked up the Red Bus Open City Tour in Union Square and had a great day. Got off in... More

I am a fan of city tours when vacationing in a new place. It is a great way to learn your way around, find what you want to go back and see, and get some historical and cultural information. We used the Gray Line Open City tour because they have a deal with the Hilton Hotel we stayed in and... More

Thank you for your comments, we take all customer reviews seriously and I will be sure that your comments are shared with our companies management and owners. Unfortunately in San Francisco, double decker tour buses (because of height and weight) are not permitted travel in certain areas of the city including parts of the Castro and Twin Peaks. Our last... We enjoyed touring around on the bus and getting off at all the stops. Our first tour guide was Marquis, and he was very nice and entertaining. Our second tour guide was Misha and he was wonderful. Very funny, had us laughing the whole time.
