Booked Thursday for Friday trip to Alcatraz followed by City Tour of San Francisco. Collected on time at hotel which was out by the airport but it took 2 hours before we checked in at Grayline office and transferred to shuttle for Pier 33 and Alcatraz. Driver gave us all clear instructions for pick up at Pier 35 for 13.30... More

Took the city tour around SFO, but only got off once. Good cross-section of the city, and the guides certainly knew what they were talking about. Lot of anecdotes and personal stories of the city. Staff are well-informed! Sometimes traffic can play havoc with schedules. We waited 45 mins for a bus that was supposed to come every 20-30 mins.... More

After a a phenomenal tour with Troy we waited for more than half an hour for the transport to the hotel. We inquired a couple of times about the approximate time of departure, but we were told to "just sit by there" and we'll be called. When the transport finally came it took another 15 minutes to depart because the... More

Used Gray Line twice, actually three, time on our recent visit to San Francisco. The visit to Muir Woods and Alcatraz went very well and I would recommend it. BUT the city hop on hop off tour the next day was a disaster. There was heavy traffic from the Gray Lines office to the Golden Gate bridge which the company... More

It was a really good combination. The boat out to Alcatraz was very nice as was the prison. There are art exhibits in the prison which is trippy but cool. Muir Woods was amazing as always. Sausalito had nice city views. The tour was good. The only thing that was irritating was the fact that I had thought it was... More

Thanks for sending Sonya Leonard to ferry us several times a week over the last several months between our plant in Brisbane and the Balboa Park BART station. Our 7:17 am group varied from a half dozen to two or three times that number, and Sophia was our ever-cheerful driver whatever the weather or the press of traffic; at the... More

My friend and I booked the "Muir Woods & Sausalito" tour via Viator. The website said we'd have 75 minutes in the woods, and the printed brochure said we'd have 90 minutes in the woods. When we arrived, the bus driver said to be back in 60 minutes. When I asked about the difference, he explained that Gray Line had... More

Gray lines picks up at some hotels but not all hotels. After being picked up at hotel they take you to office where you get off bus and check in and find out what bus you will be on. They may use buses or smaller shuttle bus for tours. For wine tour we stopped at 3 different wineries. We visited... More

It was very hard to hear the tour guide, and when we did hear her, she had a rather negative attitude about things. The stops were not close enough to attractions you may want to get off and see. We did the tour so we could hop on and off and save a little walking, but many things were a... More
