SoSF is your #1 source for all things biking San Francisco. We know the city's best bike routes, especially the ones that go around the hills. We show you San Francisco's wild history and modern trends, including food, art, music, kooky local politics, and, of course, all things bicycles. Our guided bike tours focus on the city's neighborhoods and include: Unique history, diverse neighborhoods, Victorian architecture, public art, awesome bikes, & tasty local cuisine. Fun, friendly, local guides lead you through safe, bike-friendly routes that go around those infamous hills. Discounts for students, teachers, and military. We offer 3 guided tours in spring and 4 in summer: Heart of the City: 3-3.5 Hrs, $65/person, about 9 miles: Explore the city's interior neighborhoods including the Mission, Haight-Ashbury, and Civic Center. The Classic: 4.5-5 Hrs, $89/person, about 12 miles: Everything the Heart of the City has plus the Castro, SoMa, some additional stops, and a lunch break to taste delicious local cuisine. 7X7: 5.5-6 Hrs, $99/person, 17-18 miles with a stop for lunch. This tour is our epic day out on the bikes circumnavigating the city! The Bay Roller: (Summer only) 4.5-5 Hrs, $89/person explores the culture and history of San Francisco's northeastern neighborhoods and famous waterfront landscapes.

We booked the 7x7 tour the first day we were in SF to learn more about the city and what we may want to see more of during our stay. SOSF Bike Tours fulfilled everything we had hoped for. Great bikes, the biking pace and difficulty was not a problem for our family of five and the places visited and... More

My husband and I were on a cruise this March and booked a bike tour with SOSF. It was a great tour and since we had been to San Francisco before we appreciated the more out of the way places we visited, including all of the street art murals throughout the city. We thought there might be hills, but the... More

Our guide was great. Billy Bicket did a great job introducing our group to some City spots. If you want to know SF and have some hours of fun and good talk, I recomend.

We joined the 7x7 in order to cover as much of the city as possible, but not just the "must-see" sights. We were fortunate to have Josh Harris as our guide, and boy does he know his city! It was like riding with a Encyclopedia covering the history, the botanics, the ethnics and what´s up. Apart from being like a... More

San Francisco is made to be walked. Its hills are not an obstacle but the reason why you want to walk them. But if time and endurance is a consideration, then bike tours are definitely better than bus tours. You get more up close and personal, less pricey, greener, and you make more frequent stops. All the neighborhoods covered in... More

My husband and I did "The Classic" tour and had a great experience! We had a small group, just us, one other guest, and our guide. We covered a lot of ground in a few hours and saw a ton of sights during out short visit to SF. Bonus: we stopped at an amazing taqueria in The Mission and had... More

The SOSF bike tour was a fantastic way to see the other part of San Fran. I was worried about 90% of the tour being on the road, but it was a very easy bike ride and not a problem at all. San Fran has designated bike lanes and Beebe and Billy were excellent with the road rules and made... More

Did this as a way to see San Fran as we only had 4 days there. Booked online in the morning for a 1pm tour. Absolutely brilliant, Josh was a total star, sorted out all the kit, safety first and nice bikes! Tour itself was ace, Josh was so knowledgable we learned so much as well as seeing so many... More

Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
