SoSF is your #1 source for all things biking San Francisco. We know the city's best bike routes, especially the ones that go around the hills. We show you San Francisco's wild history and modern trends, including food, art, music, kooky local politics, and, of course, all things bicycles. Our guided bike tours focus on the city's neighborhoods and include: Unique history, diverse neighborhoods, Victorian architecture, public art, awesome bikes, & tasty local cuisine. Fun, friendly, local guides lead you through safe, bike-friendly routes that go around those infamous hills. Discounts for students, teachers, and military. We offer 3 guided tours in spring and 4 in summer: Heart of the City: 3-3.5 Hrs, $65/person, about 9 miles: Explore the city's interior neighborhoods including the Mission, Haight-Ashbury, and Civic Center. The Classic: 4.5-5 Hrs, $89/person, about 12 miles: Everything the Heart of the City has plus the Castro, SoMa, some additional stops, and a lunch break to taste delicious local cuisine. 7X7: 5.5-6 Hrs, $99/person, 17-18 miles with a stop for lunch. This tour is our epic day out on the bikes circumnavigating the city! The Bay Roller: (Summer only) 4.5-5 Hrs, $89/person explores the culture and history of San Francisco's northeastern neighborhoods and famous waterfront landscapes.

I joined the Classic tour and our guide was Josh. Bikes were in good condition and organization & communication for booking and start of tour was good. The tour itself was fantastic and I saw many interesting places and neighborhoods! Josh told great stories about the city, including historic events that shaped the identity and culture of the city. The... More

I did the "Heart of the City" bike tour and it was fantastic. I highly recommend. The tour guide was super interesting and the history and personal stories were informative and interesting. The sites and bicycle riding were safe and fulfilling. On my tour was a horrible German family with three future sociopath boys who live in Tribeca NYC, and... More

I did the Classic led by Josh, with five other customers. It was a great way to see lots of the city very quickly and to learn about SF's past and present from an expert. Along the way Josh spotted a famous graffiti artist out for a jog and had a chat, as well as the creators of the Sylvester... More

We did the classic tour with "V" at the end of January. It was a small group of 4 of us and it provided a personal touch to the neighborhoods of the city. We got to go through the Golden Gate Park, see the Victorian homes, go through the Haight District and see other neighborhoods. The hills were a little... More

This tour was a great way to experience SF on a bike even though I was just visiting. The parks we saw were amazing, the roads were fun, the neighborhoods were interesting, and the tour guide's commentary was enlightening. The next time I'm in SF, I will definitely join them again for one of their other tours.

I try to take bike tours in every new city I visit. I had been to SF many times in the past, but I had never seen the city by bike, and with the growing bike culture in the city it seems like the best way to take it all in. We signed up for the 7 X 7 tour,... More

Took the "Heart of the City" tour, which lasted just over 3 hours. We saw many parts of the city at a leisurely pace - the Civic Center, the Mission, Upper Market, Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, and ended in Alamo Park. We were introduced to "The Wiggle", an indirect route to get up to Golden Gate Park, where we would... More

Do not hesitate!! This tour is amazing, San Fran is made for bike riding and I not think of a better way to see this incredible city!!! Josh was so knowledgable and it was a great insight into the city, culture & people. I don't think we would of been able to learn and see what we did on our... More

My boyfriend and I did the 18 mile tour (their longest tour at the time of posting this) and had a blast! Our guide, Josh, was knowledgeable about every area we rode through, was extremely fun, also very caring about the riders in the group, for example, he took special time to explain the areas in Spanish to a gentleman... Staying in Hayes Valley

Neighborhood Profile
Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway. Its removal allowed for the creation of an attractive boulevard on Octavia Street with a community park at its center and dozens of trendy businesses to satisfy visitors looking for a stylish respite.
