Part urban adventure, part urban trek, and totally green, The Real SF Tours take you where no other tours can go. You’ll visit enchanted gardens, secret stairways, glorious rooftop views, and some of the city’s coolest neighbourhoods. You’ll be avoiding large crowds of tourists while experiencing the real culture of San Francisco and learning about its rich and storied history. You’ll traverse the city on Cable Cars, Light Rail, and City Buses. You must be able to walk 4 separate uphill 1.5 block sections, there are a total of 6 uphill flights of stairs, and 15 downhill flights of stairs, spread throughout the day. The day encompasses over 5 miles of walking including short uphill sections and hidden stairways that most people find extremely enjoyable. If you do not walk regularly this tour may be more challenging than enjoyable. If you have any difficulty going up and downstairs we do not recommend this tour. Please only wear comfortable closed toe walking shoes. Tours run daily departing from the California St Cable Car turnaround. « less

Great tour. You will see all the neighborhoods and hear the history behind them . Our tour guide Katya was so pleasant and an absolute joy to be with all day. There is a lot of walking, but what better way to see the city. I really liked that it is a small group. I would have never seen the... More

This tour was awesome! We saw many neighbourhoods, views and attractions with a real first person account of what-was-what mixed with great history and facts. Christopher was so fun to spend the day with and knew tons about the city. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Fran and trying to decide between city tours/buses.

This was the best way to learn about the city. We took the tour early in our vacation week so that we'd have an idea of the layout of the city. We were told the history behind the districts and sometimes a little story when there was something quirky or instresting to add about it. Also, recommendations for restaurants and... More

This tour involves a lot of walking but it was perfect for our group. Not only do you have a chance to see many of the things that make San Francisco famous, you also have an introduction to all the different forms of public transportation. They make it so easy. Do this tour first and save the later days of... More

Our guide was very knowledgable and related well with our teenage children, we walked the city, road on public transportation and just enjoyed the Real San Francisco. This 6 hour tour hit every location we wanted to see, would recommend this... More

For a first trip to San Francisco, this was a perfect way to get acquainted with the city and see a good portion of it, without feeling like the typical tourist isolated in a big bus.

I had been to San Francisco briefly years ago and never made it out of the touristy areas. My goal this trip was to see the neighborhoods and find out what makes this city so great. The Real S.F. tour took us all over the city on every mode of public transportation. There were places I had walked by before,... More

Less a tour of "the usual suspects" than an intelligent walk/ride around the city with a local who loves their city and really knows their stuff. For example rather than someone pointing out the Golden Gate Bridge we went inside the Rincon building, discussed it's controversial art and history, and saw the amazing rain column, which was totally beautiful and...
