Description: Building on a 30 year history of original, site-specific productions...
Building on a 30 year history of original, site-specific productions, including the original Alcatraz Cell House Tour, Antenna Theater presents a new kind of tour experience: Magic Bus. Magic Bus blends past and present in a psychedelic journey through San Francisco's rich counter-culture history. This two-hour “trip” aboard a brightly painted vintage bus weaves a visual narrative of San Francisco from Beatniks to the Summer of Love and beyond! With retractable window screens and digital micro-projectors, Magic Bus uses innovative technology to create a mobile movie theater on a bus. See San Francisco through a new window of altered perception and historical context. Sing along to classic tunes with our hippie hostess. Flash peace signs to passers-by as bubbles swirl from the bus. Stroll through the grass in Golden Gate Park with a flower in your hair, all on your time-traveling adventure aboard Magic Bus!

I enjoyed the entire 60's experience! The tour guide was a very believable hippy, and lady bus driver was nice and welcoming. I got some great pics and enjoyed the history of "The Haight", the rocket blast was a trip, and the bus was far out, man. Our tour also received real daisies for our hair, fake LSD (peppermint candy),... More

This was an emotional trip back to when I was younger. This trip was amazing and our tour guide was nuts!!! She really embraced the era, she was shouting out the windows Love and Peace at everyone walking by. This made the trip even more fantastic. We had flowers in our hair. Would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Last week we waited at the appointed location. The bus was over 30 minutes late. The guide was very energetic and hippie and a lot of fun - so we thought the late arrival was unfortunate, but not a deal breaker for a successful tour. We were wrong. The pre-recorded tour guide was hard to understand at times, starting in... More

We're so sorry that you had a disappointing experience. We changed our show times back 30 minutes this year, from 10:00 to 10:30 and 1:00 to 1:30, and it seems that you had either a third-party ticket or sales materials from the prior year. If you could please let us know where you purchased your ticket, we'd be glad to... More

We visited San Francisco in early September with two other couples and had this tour booked in advance. We (the ladies) dressed up in tie-dye shirts, head bands and peace symbol shaped sunglasses. We fit right in with Tree Flower and Jimmie. If you are looking for a different type of bus tour......this is it. Fabulous time had by all!!

This bus ride tour trip was the BEST! A really nostalgic, experiential and educational tour of SF and The decade of the original Hippie's. The tour guides were in character and a total DELIGHT!...they made the ride infectious fun and recreated a true free love experience for by the end of the ride I really did feel part of Tree... We couldn't have been more excited for this tour, something different and fun. Unfortunately we thought we would actually see more of the sites of San Fransisco. There was too much of the inside slides and less actual city dites.

This was a great way to see san francisco's counter culture. The rocket ship blast was particularly fun. Epic hippy adventure

Had a blast! This was a terrific blend of San Francisco history, San Francisco communities, and great humor. I learned all kinds of things that are very relevant to me. There couldn't have been a better guide. Gaia - you are beyond beautiful! Thank you for the positive energy fueled trip around the City! a better day could not be... More

We had a great time. There were many technical difficulties that Gaia and Jimmy had to work through. It was unseasonably hot and this caused the bus's video equipment and screens to keep overheating so some of that part of the tour was missed. Gaia and Jimmy really overcame a lot of the bumps with improvisation and good humor. We... More
