The thing I like best about this trip was that I got to see wineries I'd never get to see on my own. All my other trips in limo's or vans through Napa and Sonoma paled in comparison to the beautiful places we got to see on our Gears and Grapes trip. We took our trip through the Dry Creek... More

I cannot wait to do this trip again when I'm visiting Nor Cal. The wineries we visited were beautiful and delicious (they will carry the wine you purchase in the van). The biking was just the perfect amount (not too long or too short) and the lunch they serve was honestly the best lunch I've ever had. I still dream... More

We decided to go with Gears and Grapes because we wanted a small cycling tour that picked up and dropped off in San Francisco. It's one of the more expensive tours but it's definitely worth it as we had one of the best days of our vacation. Everything is taken care of - transport, costs for wine tastings and a... More

My daughter and I just finished a 1-day tour and had a wonderful time. Our guides were friendly, personable and knowledgeable. The wineries chosen were varied and were each unique and personnel spent much time with us, sampling and explaining and answering our questions. Lunch was delicious and plentiful. Consider asking if you can sample the wines at that vineyard... More

My friends and I were planning for a quick two-day reunion in the San Francisco/Napa Valley area. We decided to book a day trip with Gears and Grapes. Due to the cost, I was hesitant to book at first. However, the crew picked us up and coordinated the perfect scenic tour of Napa. Our crew received excellent service and attention... More

I had a full day to kill in San Francisco and, after reading the reviews, decided to try a day trip with Gears and Grapes. What a fabulous decision! I am not a morning person and am very clumsy on a bike, so I was a little nervous about the 9am start time as well as the biking. The van... More

I've visited Napa/Sonoma/Russian River valley several times, but have never toured the area via bikes before. This was a fantastic way to do it - giving me a new perspective that I had never had before!! Ari and her crew were great - very friendly, incredibly knowledgeable of the surrounding area and vineyards, and had a delicious meal prepared/waiting for... More

The day started off at around 9:30 with a pick-up in the Union Square area in San Francisco, onto the a shuttle-van that brought us to the Russian River Valley. There are actually three destinations: Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley or Napa Valley. We didn't have much say in where we were going due to our constricted vacation schedule... More

It was excellent....they picked me up and we have a group of eight people. Drove to the dry creek area of Sonoma County and biked to four wineries. The lunch was absolutely wonderful and the coordination with the wineries was good. Was an easy bike trip and the bikes are Marin ... good quality bikes. The tour people went out... More

I had driven through Sonoma and enjoyed the Russian River scenery by car, but never had I truly appreciated it like I did on this trip. Great wine, delicious food and friendly guides made this a memorable experience. It exceeded my expectations in every way. I also enjoyed the camaraderie that developed amongst our group. By the end of the... More
