Walked past and enquired about buying Alcatraz tickets and ended up getting the deal for bike hire as well. Great price and great experience. Staff were friendly and bikes had a handy front pouch to store a bag. Map with waterproof cover was with the bike which was handy and hire included a lock and helmet. We hired the bike... More

We prearranged our rental at the Columbus Avenue location which is just around the corner from Ghirardelli Square. We were met by Dieter, a delightful German who runs the shop. He was hilarious! They gave us some great tips, oriented us using a large map on the wall, and we were off. We took a wrong turn or two as... More

I was a first timer in SF, and it was one of the best things I did there. You should definitly #bikethebridge and go to Sausalito. We did not took a guide, and it was easy.

Comparable rates - excellent equipment - knowledgable staff. The multiple locations for drop-offs is a real plus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip with all of the sights, tips, and information that Robert Beal had to offer! It had the right amount of challenge and comfort for the average rider and the bikes were very comfortable! Robert made sure we were safe and comfortable the entire journey and was genuinely grateful when we tipped him after our journey... More

The guided Golden Gate to Sausalito was even better than expected. City, seaside, the bridge and then Sausalito. Nice bike and a guide (Paul) that was friendly and relaxed about time - not rushing us.

Took the bike and travelled along the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and took the ferry back. The whole trip took about 5 hours. We enjoyed the ride and it wasn't too hard. We spent some time in Sausalio and had lunch and toured some of the shops. Highly recommend!

I have taken our Rotary Youth Exchange students on a 4 day trip to San Francisco for 4 years now. The highlight of their trip is the bike ride over the GG Bridge and the ferry ride back from Sausalito. The staff at Bay City Bikes is great to work with, even with a large group. Their bikes are always... More

With only one full day in SF, we spent the second half on bikes supplied by this company in Fisherman's wharf. For $8 an hour it was money well spent. Maps and good conditioned bikes and helmets were supplied. Setting off reminding each other to ride on the right hand side of the road until we got to the designated... More
