Went 23 Aug 15 on the Farallon Island trip. Kitty Kat is a superior boat to go on - modern, big 65 ft, catamaran, fast. Cons: Popular so it gets crowded, the crowd for the Farallon Islands tour was clearly more general tourists in the bay area as opposed to more focused natural history lovers. Guides tried to do what... More

My friends and I had a great time on this whale watching tour! We saw humpback whales within the first 45 minutes of leaving the marina - a record time according to the captain! We didn't make it out to the Farrallon Islands unfortunately, since the ocean was really rough heading out that way, but I fully agree with the... More

We reserved this tour online without a problem. On the morning of our 6 hour tour to the Farallon Islands, we were met by a wonderfully knowledgable woman named Heather. She was to be our guide for the day - and she was able to answer almost any question about the ocean, the creatures in it, and the conservation of... More

Okay I want to start on how lucky we got and how amazing it all was but I think first is my duty to explain a two things. First, I want want to acknowledged and explain why its somewhat difficult to see the whales on this type of tour, and at the same time why it deserves the respect and... More

Did this tour Friday 17th July and it was awesome! We saw mother and calf humpback along with some other whales with the tail flukes and from afar as well as harbour porpoise, sea lion and dolphin not to mention birds. But the highlight was this one amazing whale that put on a spectacular display for us with multiple breaches... More

I have a very high expectation of the tour (1) have a nice sailing in a nice boat (2) to see the whale... unfortunately, it is really upset that I have none of them... the boat is very small for almost 70 persons today, toilet is dirty cause 90% of the guests need to go their twice in a small... The crew and the boat were fine. It is long boat ride. We had good weather so the seas were pretty calm. If you get seasick make sure to take the pills! Great views of the Golden Gate going and coming. Only saw a few whales (no humpbacks time of year)

Between the East coast and West coast I have been on 7 other whale watching voyages... none compare! The crew were knowledgeable, involved with their customers and made the entire trip a great experience! It certainly didn't hurt that we got to see Humpbacks, a Sun Fish, Dolphins, Sea Lions, a bazillion birds, but most of all...a Blue whale! So... More

Fantastic experience from reservation to return! Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and caring captain and crew. We were fortunate to see 6 humpbacks and a majestic Blue Whale on our trip! Cruising under the GG Bridge and out to the Farallon Islands and seeing whales in their natural habitat is a Bucket List Item for tourists and locals alike. Dress warmly and... More

We had a great time on the Kitty Kat and spotted humpbacks just past the GG bridge. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We spent a couple hours watching the first pod with whales as close as 100 feet of the boat a couple times. I figured the captain would just save fuel and head back to... More
