Great opportunity to see the amazing Farallon islands.

We had the most fantastic whale watching cruise with these great people! We saw six to eight gray whales all diving and even breaching just outside the Golden Gate Bridge. And, lots of other animals and birds. The crew on our cruise was great. Naturalist, Heather, and First Mate, Ray, were great. So very knowledgeable and so willing to share.... More

We lucked out in that we had a sunny day with a calm ocean. We saw 9 gray whales (you mostly sea water spouts and tail fins so don't expect whales breaching like Alaska). The highlight of the day was seeing the Farallon Islands and hundreds of sea lions on it's rock and nesting birds. The islands are dramatic and... More

We encountered pretty rough sea which made it more difficult to spot whales and other marine mammals, but Carol and her colleagues still managed to locate two grey whales and a whole bunch of sea lions and porpoises. The weather conidition in our case was sub-optimal, but the tour guides was very professional, knowledgeable (real marine biologists is a great... More

Nothing to see. If you try very hard, you might be able to see a squirt of water here & there even though it was a sunny day. They asked everyone to look very hard for whales. I think that should be a sign already. Use that money for a good meal for your family instead. I would have given a... More

We were very very lucky with the weather. The morning was clear, the Golden Gate stood out bright and clear as we passed under it. The bay and the ocean were comparatively calm, although anyone who is likely to feel sea sick may not appreciate the slight swell once out into the open water. We were amazingly lucky, seeing 8... The web site says it all..you are going out onto the pacific ocean. This is not like Alaska where you get a warm meal, on a larger boat and all that. S.F. whale watching means you are going out into some choppy water for a nice long haul to try to see some whales. We didn't and the guides told... More

We were greeted by Ashley who was very friendly and taken to board the Kitty Kat. We were given the do's and don'ts of the trip and were soon heading off on our adventure. Ashley was very informative and was always telling us where to look and what we may see. We had a good trip out taking in all... More

Armed with warm clothing, binoculars and sea sickness tablets we meet our fellow travellers at 7.30am at the dock. After roll call and an informative introduction we boarded the Kitty Kat and were soon heading out into the Bay. The crew were very knowledgeable and helpful and Mr Woods the naturalist/biologist immediately started pointing out bird life, fish and mammals... More

I booked this primarily for my wife because when we went to Alaska several years ago, we did not get to see any real wildlife (except for a single eagle in Ketchikan and an otter in one of the ports). When she heard that San Francisco had a Whale watching tour, we decided to include it in our trip there.... More
