I want to start by saying I love beer, and that's why I visited Toronado. Did I get a false touristy hug when I walked in? No. Did I want one? No. Toronado is a great bar with great beers, it is not Fishermans Wharf. It is a bar frequented by locals because it's awesome. I visited from another country... More

Toronado has a reputation in beer circles of a place "not to be missed." Such may have once been the case - it's a good (although somewhat of a dive) place for a beer. The current trend in craft beer and craft beer tasting rooms and bars puts this place to shame in several respects. I fear that Toronado is... More

We read about this in Fodor's and thought this would be a good bar. Unfortunately, it was not. Be advised that is you are not from here, you won't get treated the same. Beer only. I asked the bartender if he had a specific beer, and he pointed at a board on the wall and said, "We have those" then... More

Great beer selection but you MUST have bar etiquette when you go here. Don't wave money at the bartenders, stand aside and figure out what you want before heading to the bar. They are cool with bringing in sausage sandwiches from next door which are delicious.

Vast selection of beers. Great prices. They have a beer for everyone, and the taps change frequently. Very 'dive'y' vibe. You can bring in food. There is table service for your drinks, which helps as it was VERY packed!

If going to the Fillmore for a concert be sure to pay the $2 round trip bus ride on the 22 to get to this place for happy hour! Awesome selection for beers, geared slightly to the IPA crowd, but more than enough for everyone's style. Great happy hour prices. Paid only $5 for Pliny!! Same $ for a 3... More

I have been traveling around America and I have never had such a bad experience. I arrived to Tornado at 10pm on what seemed a very quiet week night. I was asked for ID inside the bar by the bouncer, after presenting our passports he proceeded to insult me and my wife about our age (she is in her mid... More

Great relaxing atmosphere - an endless choice of beers, the employees are incredibly relaxed, no need to rush here after all what are you in a hurry for? We enjoyed sitting down after a long day of sight seeing in the ggp- and my was the hamburger tasty( got it from next door).

This place was great! Felt like I was in a nirvana video (grungy cool). Tons of great beers at really reasonable prices. No food though :(

While visiting the city we decided to stop into Toronado for a couple drinks since we'd heard good things about it. First it does have that dive feel to it, which didn't bother us. There is a big board that lists quite a few beers. My friend likes hefeweizen, so he ordered the only one he saw on the board.... More
