We arrived here at 5.30 just as it opened after spending a jam packed day walking around the city. We were pretty tired and I did feel a little conscious about my dress but I need not have worried they were very welcoming and the service was quick and efficient. The had a fantastic array of Martinis to chose from... More

We stopped here for a drink and to enjoy the views at sunset. We were dressed appropriately--business casual--no shorts or tshirts. We were told there would be a $10 cover charge and we agreed, shown to a table with a nice view. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes and were never waited on...figured we should trust our instincts and... More

Got dressed up for our one night in the city to go here for drinks before our dinner reservation. They were closed for a private event with no warning, and the staff was rude after taking one look at us. I bet it would have been nice. Glad we made it to Coit Tower for our panoramic view. Went across... More

Try to get there for the sunset so you can see views both in the day and at night. Almost 360 view. Live music Thursday-Sunday. Great band. Has dance floor. Drinks and appetizers are pricey but well worth it for a special evening. Best cocktail and tapas I've had in the city. This is a must experience.

We had such a nice time we went back the next day and watched the sun set again while having a couple of martinis. Good views of the city, good service. Only call out is you won't be allows into the bar area if your wearing shorts

The Top of the Mark has been on my "bucket list" for years. My husband and I came to San Francisco just recently and my heart was set on going to the Top of the Mark. We read the reviews and almost were deterred by the negative remarks. But I am so glad we disregarded them.... We had no reservations....my... More

My wife and I decided to visit the Top of the Mark last Monday evening after dinner and shopping in Union Square (walked up the hill -- only 6-7 blocks but the last block's a killer!). I had stayed at the Mark Hopkins several times before on business but hadn't been to the Top. The crowd was light, as expected... More

True, the view lives up to its reputation, and watching the sun set over San Francisco is surprisingly beautiful (on a clear day), but the ambience doesn't quite live up to the vista outside your window. The cocktails are well made, and plentiful, but the decor didn't quite have the class of the Marriott sky bar, which offered better views... More

The best view of the city and bay from the golden Gate to the Bay Bridge. We recommend getting there before 4 PM to get a great window seat. Try the "light fare" menue. It's a meal in itself. Try to stay past sunset to experience the sunset along with the city coming "alive" at night.

We went there with the intention of everyone else to have a nice view and a great martini. We rode up the elevator with another group of people and the elevator operator told us we would have to pay a cover charge but we could sit at the bar. The other group said that was fine that they had not... More
