We were 3 so in the carpool lane and ended up with a "fine" for "not paying the toll"?!! I've never seen this in my entire life! I had the credit card but not the cash. I heard on different forums that "everybody carry at least $10" but when you're visiting it's not always the case... Yeah because BTW people... More

I was lucky to see this bridge at night. My guide told me that the illumination cost the city 8 mln dollars, and I understood why. This shining miracle looks fabulous.

When thinking of bridges in SF, don't think of the gate. The bay bridge deserves so much more credit. The light show in the evening is so awesome. A great time to pass the evening for a brisk stroll in the embarcadero.

There is a pedestrian/bike trail along side most of the new span (Yerba Buena Island to Oakland) of the bridge. See the separate listing for San Francisco Bay Trail or visit http://baybridgeinfo.org/path. It's a beautiful walk, and currently you can see the old span as it is being dismantled.

Cross the bridge 4 times during my stay in SF. I was very impressed that it was so huge with so many lanes! It was even more lovely at night. Have a look at my pic! Seriously overshadowed the Golden Gate bridge for me. Toll required when driving into SF!

I had heard about this limited time display and made sure that on a recent trip we saw it. There are LED lights strung on the bridges and then programed for several different patterns: waterfalls, surf, fishes, and something that looked like Frisbees play across the bridge. It is entrancing. To see it we went to near the Ferry building... More

Drove across the bridge and parked. Very busy parking lot and could use more parking. Walked with the kids across the bridge. Very Busy traffic and fast.....Bathing room could use a little cleaning. Well a lot of cleaning and toilet paper. Very Very windy but well worth the stop.

Definitely sketchy crossing the double decker bridge to Oakland but once you get on the new part of the bridge it is a smooth ride. Very artistic looking and lights up beautifully at night.
