It is just a bridge. My gripe is this. There are toll booths to go through. About 24 lanes are siphoned down to 4 lanes. We were going to San Francisco on a Saturday afternoon. Traffic was backed up at least 5 miles in front of the toll booths. It took us 90 minutes to go maybe 10 miles. There... More

this is another great man made marvel after Golden Gate. This place is too windy, catch hold of yourself and your scarves !! A nice place if you visit SFO, have an ice cream too.

We waited years for the grand opening of the soon to be world famous Oakland Bay Bridge. The promotions, the hype, the wait, the construction challenges - made the waiting even more exciting. I nominate Peggy Lee's haunting song, "Is that All there is?" to be the Bridge Anthem. I have never been so under whelmed. The most exciting part... More

At night, I took a bicycle rickshaw from the Wharf to the Bay Bridge. It was a lovely evening and my "cabbie" took me past the Embarcadero and right too the Bridge to take a really nice panorama of it at night. You might want to get a video of it because the light effect on the bridge is really... More

A wonderful way to enter the city. There is a lot of traffic but you can enjoy the great views while crossing.

They just completed and opened it as of September 2013. The old bridge was still next to it. It seems wider and more sturdy. Longest bridge I've ever been on. Great picture from Alcatraz of the whole bridge.

Heavy traffic! What else is there in San Francisco? It would be interesting to travel on when there is an earth quake.

The Bay Bridge doesn't share the same notoriety as the Golden Gate, but it is still very impressive and beautiful. It can be seen from many prominent landmarks in and around San Francisco but probably best viewed from the Embarcadero by the ferry terminal or (so I'm told) from the Oakland side of the bridge. Particularly impressive at night when... More

The new sections and the light show are spectacular, but that old erector set has to go. I hope they recycle all that scrap metal.
