We went to the Redwood Room on Dec. 29th 2014. Having flown in that day we didn't feel like venturing out too far but rather to get settled into our suite. The food was okay but with the Velvet Room now not open you can tell that the wait staff was a bar/lounge staff and not food. My med. rare... More

I like the dark, widely separated seating alcoves. The drinks were actually made off site and the actual bar counter and display case for the liquor were empty. Maybe there were cleaning/remodeling?? Still, a comfy place to have good drink in an old world setting.

Great bar to kick back in and relax. Every trip to San Francisco, this is now on the place to go list. The decor, the vibe, great music to relax and have a good night. Looking forward to my next trip so I can kick back at Redwood Bar and The Clift.

I make at least one visit to the Redwood Room every time I'm in SF. It's a great place to take friends, and I've never seen it less than vibrant. Great, old-school decor, friendly staff and great drinks make a bar. There's no real pretense here, either, although there certainly could be. Must see when in SF. Check out the... More

Love this place. VERY high ceilings with redwood pillars give it that "I'm in a forest" (or large log cabin) look and feel! lol. It also looks like an old Library but without the books. Great electronic portraits on the wall which every now and then wink at you or move making it feel a little like hogwarts from harry... More

Went here for a cocktail before enjoying a play at ACT. The lounge is beautiful, quiet though busy, and the cocktails we ordered were perfect. Pineapple Express and the Razz-Mary. This will be one of my requested must-do's now!

We had a quick cocktail at The Redwood Room, having seen it recommended as one of the best bars in the city. It's certainly an impressive room, art deco styling and modern moving art framed pictures combining to unusual effect. As one would expect it was quite expensive but the drinks were good and the service attentive. Worth a visit.

Grabbed a drink before dinner. Really cool atmosphere. Very upscale lounge vibe. Expensive cocktails, but very good and very interesting. Would love to go back!

Staying at the Clift with my partner and had a long day, so just wanted to chill out and have a bite to eat. Unfortunately, it being Sunday (why do Californians think it's cool to be irritably old-fashioned about some things?), the restaurant was closed, so we chose to eat bar food in the Redwood Room. The food was very... More

I've been to the Redwood Room several times and it has never been disappointing. This place has a sexy vibe to it, great lounge music, strong drinks, with a crowd just mingling and of course trying to hook up. This was the place I envisioned going when I was a single guy lol, but places like the Redwood Room didn't... More
