We have seen The Lion King, Wicked (twice), Peter Pan, Sarah MacLachlan and Paula Cole at The Orpheum. We have not had a bad seat, the acoustics are excellent and the facilities are very nice. Take BART and the theater is at the top of the stairs - parking and traffic in the area can be a hassle.

I was impressed by how well kept this theatre was. It maintains its character well. Has the old smell to it which is part of its character and the old straw filled seats.

Two special needs boys glued to their seats eyes on stage THE END! Awesome show, beautiful nostalgic venue, preceded by a great meal at Market Street Grill just across the street. Made for a fantastic evening, and the uber easy BART access for commuting from the Central Valley= PERFECT. Look forward to doing that again.

I love these older theaters, and the production of the Book of Mormon as awesome! I didn't feel extremely comfortable walking around outside the theater and too and from my hotel but...I'm from a small town some I'm always a little on edge in big cities so it could have been all in my head. Really loved the atmosphere of... More

Loved "The Book of Mormon", and loved this great theater. The location is not the best of locations as it's in a questionable part of town, but we cabbed in and it was not an issue. There's just not much to do in the way of walking around and taking in the sights.

The building is spectacular in detail inside, though it could use some TLC. We sat in the mezzanine, and my knees were touching the seat in front of me (I am 6'). Unobstructed view of the stage, but you really could use binocs or opera glasses from here. TIP: Seats 1-5 in Row L had tons of leg room, they... More

Sent an email asking a question about 'The Book of Mormon' show. No answer. It's not rocket science to answer an email. If you've got an email account and advertise it, and someone emails you, it's considered polite to answer it. Would have liked to see this show when we're in San Francisco but apparently they're not interested in the... More

An excellent place, with amazing plays in a very poor location. We were in San Francisco only for three days and took the opportunity to get tickets to see Priscilla Queen of the Dessert. An amazing play, great 70s music. Big comfortable theater, clean, great acoustics, comfortable seats. The neighborhood is scary after dark, full of junkies and homeless and... More

I love this theater, it has not changed a bit over the years, clean, easy to maneuver, spotless. Parking is a very short walking distance next to the Holiday Inn and averages 20.00 for the length of a show. Go! See a show!

Mary Poppins was playing the weekend we visited and the show was delightful - the actors all had Broadway experience and the orchestra was live. The theater is gorgeous, seating is comfortable, and acoustics are good. We made the mistake of walking from our hotel in Union Square area to the theater. It's longer than it looks on the map...
