My first visit to this theatre. I love that it is adjacent to BART. No parking problems. They also provide sippy cups for your beverage so that you may sip during the show.

Saw Motown yesterday. First musical of the season for us. Our seats are 4th row back first seats on the side. We actually can see actors spit and sweat. Great theater and probably no bad seats in the place. Easy to enter and, more importantly, easy to get out. Lots of close on street parking but bring lots of change... More

Loved the quaintness of the theatre. Every seat is a good seat. Saw Motown The Musical. It was one of the best musicals I have ever seen! A must see if you enjoy the era of Gordy Berry and Motown. The music of The Supremes, Temptations, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye, etc. Looking forward to seeing the... More

was at the Orpheum to enjoy Motown the Musical. the show was tremendous with the music the star of the show. the Orpheum is stunning to behold inside and that is even before you get into the theater itself which is filled with even more architectural eye candy. the ceiling is mesmerizing. we chose seats in the balcony; the chairs... It's a very pretty theater with parking available a couple of blocks away (unfortunately through some not-great streets). Huge pre- and post-theater crowds help you feel perfectly safe (if you aren't hugely comfortable with SF at night). The show itself was wonderful and got nearly everything right.

my favorite theatre. it's architecture and decore is beautiful. it's san francisco. it's large but you still have the small theatre feel about it. before the show i visited the women's room outside the orchestra and it was not overly-crowded. after the show, i visited the women's room downstairs and there was no line. not sure how they do it,... We have seen The Lion King, Wicked (twice), Peter Pan, Sarah MacLachlan and Paula Cole at The Orpheum. We have not had a bad seat, the acoustics are excellent and the facilities are very nice. Take BART and the theater is at the top of the stairs - parking and traffic in the area can be a hassle.

I was impressed by how well kept this theatre was. It maintains its character well. Has the old smell to it which is part of its character and the old straw filled seats.
