Take a long bus ride on the #1 California. Get off at Clement and walk through the park to the Palace of the Legion of Honor. See the GG Bridge. Smell the plants. Can't be beat.

Lincoln Park got its name by being the western end of the Lincoln Highway, The Lincoln Highway was the first road across the USA. There are stellar views of the Bay, San Francisco skyline, and Golden Gate Bridge from Lincoln Park. We have visited this park often, The Legion of Honor Museum, which is a fine art museum, is here.... More

When I consider the parks that my kids grew up with they had a VW bug compared to the Cadillac parks in SF. Lincoln Park has plenty of room for a picnic, a stroll or hours of fun on the equipment. When you walk to where the equipment is the ground feels like a trampoline. It would be hard to... More

Put on your hiking boots and go! There are amazing hiking tracks, if you are into that, or even if you just want to walk a bit. Not difficult at all, although i reckon you can g a bit off tracks and try some tougher paths. The hike is definitely amazing, with awesome lookouts to the ocean. When i went... More

Here one can feel the winds that have traveled the entire Pacific Ocean. The views are so beautiful, the stuff one sees in films. Take your time, study a map and go for a great walk, there are vistas everywhere you look, so much beauty. The Legion of Honor museum is one of the best in the city, and what's... More

When I die and go to heaven, I KNOW I AM GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED. Hey, Petie. I used to Golf at Lincoln Park with that killah 16th Hole (off the left is the Golden Gate Bridge). Whattya got in Heaven that will top this creation? I used to love taking the ferry around and under the Golden Gate Bridge.... More

Headland with stunning cliff top views across to the Golden Gate Bridge with fairly gentle paths for a stroll, part of which is formed from a disused railway line that was abandoned when landslides made it too expensive to maintain. Ideal for those a little less mobile, or in wheelchairs. After a while the walk can become a little more... More

Lincoln park houses the california legion of honor museum which is special in itself but outside across the parking lot is a wonderful view of downtown san francisco and a great view of golden gate bridge from the golf course road along the entrance to s.f. Bay.

Most folks come here for the very scenic golf course or the Legion of Honor Museum. The latter is a San Francisco gem, by the way. The former is often dismissed by golfers as spotty, but the course layout and landscaping is magnificent! The real beauty here for locals and tourists alike is the spectacular views all the way around... More
