Buying a Boudin bear or turtle is always a must on a visit to the wharf...and watching them make them just as exciting. We had the two grandkids with us...and watched them at the window make tiny turtles. The 5 year old slipped on the railing outside the window...and received an immediate bruise on her elbow. (She said her brother... More

Just returned from a fantastic week in San Francisco. Actually ate here three times, including the airport for the return trip home. Was just great. Great food, great service, and AWESOME VIEWS. Had one of the best tables of our entire trip, could have sat there for hours watching the view of the wharf. Have three picky children, all couldn't... More

I couldn't wait to get to Boudin and try their clam chowder in the sour dough bowl. They did not disappoint! The desserts were just as delish! Make sure to walk by the big glass window where you can watch the bakers creating turtles, alligators and loaves of bread. The bakers wear headsets and interact with the window gazers.

Food was very good - no dispute. After a long drive from Napa, we wanted to sit down and be served. So we opted for the upstairs "restaurant" (versus the downstairs cafe style). The service was awful - my father had to hold his meal because the table was full. No one had cleared his oyster platter, and the server... More

Soup in a sourdough bowl was one of the best meals we had in SF. Would highly recommend. You can tell its good by the constantly full tables.

Beautiful & original Sourdough Bread. My husband & myself are in bread industry & we know what original Sourdough taste like. Ones made from live culture & without any vinegar, crystals, etc. Ones with vinegar etc are not really original Sourdough. We saw the whole baking process & the bread was awesome. We had soup in a Sourdough Bread bowl... More

We were in San Fran, so of course we needed get some sourdough bread. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was very good, but the whole ordering system is crazy. We were waited in line to order, then you have to wait a the counter to pick up the food. This created a bottleneck and there was chaos by... More

We first this on Good Weekend and the smell is wonderful. Huge Bakery with restaurant upstairs, which we did not visit. We ordered from the Deli/Cafe area downstairs. I had the clam chowder in a sourdough, most enjoyable, fast and fresh. We watched the bread put into the ovens and come out on a conveyor across the ceiling, although think... More

We ordered the clam chowder and the tomato soup in the bread bowl with great expectations. We were not let down. The only fault if really being picky was the soup could have been a little hotter for the cool weather outside. Overall we ate it all with a smile at the end. All you can ask for.
