Went there yesterday and had coffee at Peetes. Coffee was great so went back at lunch. Okay it wasn't super expensive (clam chowder bread bowl $7.99) though they did try and charge us $7.99 for soup that should have come with the grilled cheese sandwich for $2 extra - but it's a lucky their bread is good as there was... We went to the second floor and ate at the restaurant. SO glad we did. Got a comfortable booth and still had a nice view of the Bay. Both my wife and I ordered the Crab Louis Salad and it was superb! Mound of Dungeness crab meat on top of fresh Boston Lettuce.Tomatoes, deviled eggs, cold large asparagus, and avacodes!! I used oil... More

We went to the restaurant at Boudin's on our last night before going to Honolulu (there is also a bakery shop and a cafe). Superb! Great menu, great ambience, great service and very reasonable prices given to outstanding quality of the food. We had a superb meal, complete with cocktails to die for. I can heartily recommend the clam chowder.... More

We were walking by and they gave us a sample of sour dough bread and a menu. My daughter thought the tomato soup sounded good so we went in. It was very crowded and we didn't know where to go so we saw a sign for the restaurant upstairs and went up. The gave us a pager and said 15min.... More

Had lunch here with family. I definitely recommend the crab sandwich. We ate at the upstairs restaurant which gave us free entrance to their museum. Interesting how the company started. Bread then were delivered to houses by hanging it on a nail by the door. Stop by their museum to learn more. Have the restaurant validate your parking. You get... More

It has become more commercialized over the years but the bread still is great. Nothing like a loaf of crunchy crusted sourdough bread

We really enjoyed our lunch here. We both had the half sandwich and soup option with our chowder in a bread bowl. Too much food! :) The sandwiches were big and tasty... didn't seem like a "half" but more like a normal size sandwich! If its your first time visiting San Fran, you must have a sourdough bread bowl for... More

Having hear about sour dough and then eating at every mealit was good to see it being made and understand a bit of the history and see the skill taken in producing it
