We were staying in the city prior to taking a cruise and went to the Buena Vista for a breakfast of crab omelets. We've been here a number of times over the years and always enjoy stopping at this bar/restaurant famous for it's Irish coffee (which we had with our breakfast). It's located at the end of the cable car... More

The tour guide knew the Buena Vista was famous for their Irish Coffee and it was a treat. Frank, the bartender was an unusually friendly sole and a master of prestidigitation. He keep our crew mesmerized with his tricks. A must see if in the area.

The atmosphere is pleasant, the Irish Coffee is really good, but Tina the bartender made it fun. We will go back to Buena Vista next time we are in the city.

After riding the cable car from the Union Square we found the Buena Vista Pub and decided to stop in and relax before walking the Fisherman's Wharf. My wife and I had our first (and second) Irish Coffees. Really great! The service and ambiance were the best, we will be back.

Had a few Irish Coffees here one night, they sure have them down to a fine art and can churn them out fast. Still decent though.

I absolutely love the Buena Vista. It is a very jovial atmosphere with the very best Irish you can find. The waitresses are very pleasant despite the high crowds that they have to deal with. A must to visit!

Eat here. Cinnamon french toast or omelet. Period. This place is well known, but it does have a great view, very good food, and reasonably priced. Showed up at 8:45 for 9 am opening. Plenty of rom even thought 30 people were in line by 9.

Stop at the Buena Vista for the best Irish coffee in SF and to watch the show. This is a sure way to shake off the chill and warm you up.

Yes, The Buena Vista Cafe is technically a restaurant but it is also an attraction not to be missed. If you love Irish Coffee this is where it all started. The attraction factor comes in when watching the Irish coffee prepared. It is like watching an assembly line of coffee drinks. Also most of the time the tables are shared... More

We were staying at tHe Argonaut across teh road, and visited on our forst night for a night cap. The coffees were so good we ended up visiting every night of our stay. Great service, good location but worth the trip for the Irish Coffee alone.
