I hear the food here s really good. Unfortunately, we never got a table as the place is usually packed from shoulder to shoulder. However we sat at the bar and upon a friend's recommendation ordered the Irish coffee. Perfectly delicious. We got one each day we were there, it was perfect way to take the chill off of walking... We absolutely LOVE this place. The breakfasts are fabulous, the Irish Coffee is even better. This joint has been around forever. Get the San Fran Sourdough Toast, hummmm and the grilled cheese on that same toast, to die for. Sitting in at big round tables, so you may be sitting with people you don't know but it is a great... Wonderful institution in San Francisco. Delicious Bailey's or even just straight Irish Coffee, but they are small and $8. Easy to drink super quickly! I enjoyed watching the bartender making these drinks, but the waitress seemed aggressive and harried. Know that you will, quite possibly, be sitting at a table with others. The waitress threw the cocktail napkins down on... More

Located where the cable cars turn around by the water. Best Irish coffee in the world! Great atmosphere fun and hip place to hang out and enjoy the locals. Must sit at the bar and watch the bartenders pour the Irish coffees. Most of the bartenders have even there 30 years or more!

Irish Coffee is great, more than great, exceptional! No place else does it like the BV. Service was great and I had the french dip, which was great on sourdough. Went back for breakfast and it was very good.. Make sure to get the sourghdough toast.

As the name implies, the view of the San Francisco bay cannot be beaten. The Irish Coffees are pretty good too. The bartenders are great and can definitely chat you up if you'd like.

The duck tour driver had said that this place sells more Irish coffee than most places in Ireland. You can get an Irish coffee elsewhere for half the price, but it isn't the same. The best Irish coffee we had ever had, served by bartenders in white jackets in a classy historic tavern/
