You have to have an Irish Coffee when visiting San Fran and you have to have one here at the Buena Vista. The atmosphere is awesome and they care for everyone even when it is crowded. A tip also is they cannot serve an Irish Coffee to go but they can sell you the makings for it and let you...

Jameson's is the ONLY Irish Whiskey to use and Buena Vista knows it! Not worth going to San Francisco if you don't drop by to share the tradition of sipping a hot Irish Coffee. Watching the bartenders making them is an experience in itself. Friendly staff; friendly customers ... and the food is very good besides! Do yourselves a favor...

You have to stop in and have the Irish Coffee! Watch the bartenders make them - a real show! DELISH!!!! Wish I lived closer.....
Came here on the first night, just like Mary-Ann Singleton. We drunk 3 irish coffees each then stumbled on to the cable cars. Really busy place, but the irish coffee is amazing. Just to see the way they make them alone is worth the visit, and money!!
It has been around for a long time and yes it is a tourist trap. But the fact is it still gives you good food and the irish coffee is absolutely the best,
We did a breakfast stop on a busy Sunday. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They have open seating which can be a...

Had to check out Buena Vista based on so many reviews I've read on the Irish coffee. Very strong! Needed a bit more coffee added to the whiskey but I suppose most prefer it that way. Like any other place in SF overpriced: $8.00 for what I would call a shot of Irish coffee. What was pretty entertaining was watching...

I heard from a bay area resident I work with that "you have to have an Irish coffee at Buena Vista." They weren't kidding. How good was it. I don't even like whiskey and I downed three of them in 30mins. They're right. If you are in the area of Ghiradelli Sq, you really should stop in.
Stopped in for the best Irish Coffee. Bartender so busy and yet great sense of humor. Crowded always but fun. Recommend this as a must make stop when visiting San Francisco. Right near the trolley beginning.
If you like Irish coffee this is your place, we had a couple of Bailey Coffee's and they were great, the ambiance is good but the food we ordered was very disappointing (potato skins & nachos). This is the right place to relax with friends over a warm drink with a great view, just don't order any food.
