I am writing a mixed review because I was so excited to surprise my husband by taking him on our last night in San Fran to a jazz club where I thought I was going to see a blues/jazz band from New Orleans which was advertised on their site. I purchased the tickets for a '9:30' show and it was... More

I went there without knowing anything about the place. The live music was great. The venue really has something special. Somenight end crazy some others less i guess but the night i spent there was unforgettable.

There is something going on most nights at the Boom Boom Room and it's nearly always awesome. A chance to get up close and personal with live music in a safe and special environment. I saw two bands there whilst I was in SF and the ambience and sound was excellent on both occasions. Admission prices vary, but beer is... More

The two "bros" working the BBR table outside of the Frequinox were clearly not stoked to be doing their job. They were so rude that I'm taking the time to write this review. If I treated people the way we were treated where I work, I wouldn't have a job. We even tipped them as we were sure that this... More

My boyfriend & I want to hear a Funk fusion band. We got there at 9 pm, but there was a rap band as the opening band. UGH! We ended up going down the street to a Brazillion restaurant with a Jazz band. Which was a great detour! We went back to Boom Boom Room at midnight and had a... More

Once again I visited San Fran's Boom Boom Room not knowing what to expect and was blown away by the great music. Not being a local or even from the USA, many of the performers were unknown to me but I took a gamble and had a fantastic night out out with top quality music and dancing. It's crowded, loud... More

This place is open until 2:00 am and serves alcohol until 2:00 am. The staff are wonderful, including the bouncer. Great, friendly people who enjoy the company of others. I visited there on a Sunday night with a friend and colleague and we enjoyed good music for several hours, and many drinks. I would most certainly return again with more... More

We had a blast at the Boom Boom Room. Parking is close and cheap. Friendly eager servers, nice environment. Get there before 9 pm for a good comfy seat.

Visited San Francisco last weekend for the first time. A local Bay area friend recommend to visit the live Jazz/Blues spots on Fillmore Street. I visited a few other spots on Fillmore which were nice, however ended up on the dance floor here until 2:30am. This was the most enjoyable time I have had listening to live music. The cover... More

We were in San Francisco for our 20th anniversary and just *had* to enjoy some live music. Yoshi's was a bit far from where we were staying so the hunt was on for some Hammond-based blues or jazz. Found out that the Jon someone-or-other Trio (hammond, drums, guitar) was opening for the Monophonics (great young group) so we headed up... More
