Just happen to drop in here (via a taxi - definitely) and caught a UK reggae band debut in SF. Black Slate no less - had a great time! The venue is OK and their sound engineers seem to have it set up right - drinks are reasonably priced too.

husband and i went here based on the reviews. $15 cover (not bad for S.F.); just a hole in the wall live music joint: band was good ;singer fair. but the worst part is that the young crowd was standing around blocking view of stage for those who were seated . people weren't there to LISTEN to music...it was more... I am writing a mixed review because I was so excited to surprise my husband by taking him on our last night in San Fran to a jazz club where I thought I was going to see a blues/jazz band from New Orleans which was advertised on their site. I purchased the tickets for a '9:30' show and it was... More

There is something going on most nights at the Boom Boom Room and it's nearly always awesome. A chance to get up close and personal with live music in a safe and special environment. I saw two bands there whilst I was in SF and the ambience and sound was excellent on both occasions. Admission prices vary, but beer is... More

My boyfriend & I want to hear a Funk fusion band. We got there at 9 pm, but there was a rap band as the opening band. UGH! We ended up going down the street to a Brazillion restaurant with a Jazz band. Which was a great detour! We went back to Boom Boom Room at midnight and had a... More

Once again I visited San Fran's Boom Boom Room not knowing what to expect and was blown away by the great music. Not being a local or even from the USA, many of the performers were unknown to me but I took a gamble and had a fantastic night out out with top quality music and dancing. It's crowded, loud... This place is open until 2:00 am and serves alcohol until 2:00 am. The staff are wonderful, including the bouncer. Great, friendly people who enjoy the company of others. I visited there on a Sunday night with a friend and colleague and we enjoyed good music for several hours, and many drinks. I would most certainly return again with more... More

We had a blast at the Boom Boom Room. Parking is close and cheap. Friendly eager servers, nice environment. Get there before 9 pm for a good comfy seat.

Visited San Francisco last weekend for the first time. A local Bay area friend recommend to visit the live Jazz/Blues spots on Fillmore Street. I visited a few other spots on Fillmore which were nice, however ended up on the dance floor here until 2:30am. This was the most enjoyable time I have had listening to live music. The cover...
