So much info packed into a small space. Each room has tons of memorabilia and history from the Disney family. I was especially taken with the personal effects, like vacation videos & wedding photos. The behind the scenes looks at the making of an empire and the countless number of artists who worked at the Mouse House is just inspiring.... More

Like Disneyland itself, this museum is well-organized and approachable. Visitors follow the development of animation (did you know that Disney created a series of shorts that included people and animated characters back in the 1920's?) and come to appreciate the visionary that was Walt Disney. We arrived before 11:00 and were able to park right out in front. Had lunch... More

As someone from Scotland where our museums are free I think that it was pricey. However there were a lot to see and learn in there. The best bit for me was the model of Walt's vision of Disneyland. As we went at the weekend we took the free shuttle back into downtown so made up a bit for therice... More

It is a great visit for 2-3 hours and I learned so much about Walt Disney and him as a person. The museum is beautifully set up and in a wonderful location in presidio and near Chrissy Field.

We are residents of the SF Bay Area looking for something to do with a visiting relative who had already seen the big attractions (Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, etc.). A friend mentioned the Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio. It's an intimate museum, with extremely well-done exhibits documenting the life of Walt Disney. It's got lots of artifacts (the... You know what? This is a nice little museum about Walt, his family and his career starting from the early days. It is really well done and interesting to see.

I am a Mickey Mouse lover and when I discovered this museum was near by the Youth Hostel at Fisherman's Wharf I went. I spent about 3 hours there and could have used a couple of more - I like to read every label when in a museum. Many pictures to look at that tell stories. Anyone interested in Disney... More

I should start off by saying we are Disney freaks. Annual passes to Disneyland, we go a lot. But this museum gave us a look at where it all started and what an amazing man Walt Disney was. We get so wrapped up in what Disney is today we forget about this generous man that started it all whose only... More

The museum is in two buildings ,the first covers the early family history , the early working life , the risks , success , second world war , strikes , the awards etc etc , right up to his .very early death in 1966. In the rear exhibition hall it tells the story of Walt,s fascination with trains ,which influenced... More

I was not sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised to see where it all started, Walt's upbringing, his vision and then seeing it as it unfolds Very interesting. No rides or thrills, just a museum of a very talented, a head of his time, visionary that gave us Disney!
