If you like chocolate, then this is for you! My teens and I took this walking chocolate tour in San Francisco with Valerie and Ahmet. It was Valerie's first tour and Ahmet came along to offer assistance as needed. Despite this being her first official tour, Valerie was very confident and her knowledge of chocolate was commendable. We learned all... More

I highly recommend the Hayes Valley Walking Tour. Our guide, Melissa, was very knowledgeable about the area and fun to be with. This was a private tour with 6 women and it was wonderful. The right mix of food, desserts and fun. The restaurant "hosts" were happy and excited to visit with us and made us feel special...this on a... More

Mary was knowledgeable, fun, and had our journey mapped out perfectly. Covering all of the most amazing parts of the area. Get ready for a one of a kind trip with the best guide in the valley! Thank you Mary. Jay Olson

We could not have been more surprised by how much fun we had on this tour! It was so much more than we expected. Our tour guide Mary was absolutely amazing! Not only was she well informed and a great historian, but she was also so much fun and full of enthusiasm. She definitely made the experience for us! From... More

I took my friend for her birthday. We had the best time! It just flew by. Nicole was so knowledgeable about chocolate, the city and so many interesting fun facts. She is just great at her job. She was so friendly and interactive I would definitely ask for her on the next tour if she is available.

Went on the Napa Valley tour in September 2014 and the food was amazing. Vendors were great and can't say enough about that, well except one and I blame the tour guide on this. She pointed out that my husband did not eat the pate and he did not like being put on the spot. She made a scene about... More

My daughter and I took the Ultimate Chocolate Tour with Ahmet. He was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable, personable, kept the pace on time but allowed us plenty of time for asking questions, purchasing goods and just general interaction among the participants. He knew a great deal about restaurants in the San Francisco area and was a great source of... More

Mary was our tour guide. While she is lovely as a person, she wasn’t a great tour guide at all (and we have taken many food tours in the past in a wide variety of cities). She spent an unreasonable amount of time talking about her personal history/move to Napa, and of the frequency of floods. While the flood information... More

This tour was a highlight of my trip to San Francisco! Fortunately for me I was the only person taking the tour on Friday afternoon so my tour guide Beth, and I had a wonderful time exploring Hayes Valley together with plenty of food at every stop.We had Pumpkin Ice Cream made from organic ingredients and fast frozen with nitrogen,... My group of 5 had a fabulous time touring the charming streets of Napa and its lovely waterfront. Our guide Mary (such an expert) was charming and fun and gave us as much 'verbal flavor' of Napa and its history as we received in culinary bites of some of Napa's finest. We visited 1 week after the 8/24 6.2 earthquake... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
