Come fly a kite, get in a good run, have a picnic -- this space is great for all that and more. San Francisco has done an amazing job with providing open space, and this perfect expanse of green and beach along the waterfront is a prime example. Great place to spend the day for locals and visitors.

Loved all of the dogs taking advantage of Crissy Field. Made me miss my pooch who was visiting her "grandparents" Weather wasn't warm but lots of people (and dogs) out and about flying kites, running around and just enjoying this great park.

Popular place to hang out. Many families with kids on bikes, joggers, fishermen, and of course many people walking dogs. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Good place to picnic. Dress for windy, cool weather.

This area allows a wonderful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz without all of the traffic of the parking area above at bridge level. You can walk up to the bridge from the pier area. You get to see the city line from across the bay. This was a hidden gem for us.

I always love wandering through here. Someday I will actually get to bike through here. I had planned on it happening last week, but it looks like it'll be postponed yet again.

This was the first thing I saw after picking up my bike rental from Sports Basement on my way over the GGB. One large field that used to by a U.S. Army airfield. Now, it's used for biking, walking, jogging, pushing strollers, Frisbee throwing, and photo taking. I stopped briefly at the Crissy Field Overlook and snapped a few pictures... More

This formerly abandoned and derelict area has been recently transformed for the pleasure of the public. With its views to Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge and the city, it's a fantastic stretch of natural beauty to enjoy. Even on a cool and windy day it felt exhilarating to discover its many attractions such as bird nesting places and beaches.

This is a beautiful spot - perfect even without a dog, but better with one. Great for cooling off, enjoying the coastal beauty and for people watching. Parking isn't much of a problem and there's a snack bar near by.
