My husband and I visited San Francisco for the very first time and this was the absolute BEST part of our trip. We did the Famous Tour. When we tell our friends everything we saw, they can't believe we did all that between 9am and 2pm. It was the smartest decision we made on this vacation. If you don't want... More

My wife, her two sisters, a cousin, their four daughters and two grandchildren had a family reunion outside San Francisco. Some live nearby in Pleasanton and Tiburon, and the rest are from Houston. They decided to tour the city so that the Texans could experience the flavor of San Francisco. Based on the Trip Advisor reviews we selected Dylan's and made... More

We were on a cruise with a day stop in San Fran. My kids have never seen it before and given the wide desperate of ages in our group, I have been worried that a traditional "tour" would be dreadfully boaring for little ones. Dylan's efforts to present a real "fabric" of the city paid off. Kids were engaged.. And... More

Rrrrrr-olando was our guide and he is excellent. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable as a native SFiscan. We very much enjoyed the day with him. The pace of the tour is great, the stop locations were well planned and the minibus was comfortable. Great way to spend a day.

Fantastic tour, and would recommend anyone coming to take the Famous tour if you have the time. It may seem like a long time, but the number and length of stops are just right. I'm over in SF from the UK on business, so on my own & I usually try to get to see new city's using open top... More

We took the famous tour and it didn't disapoint. Rolando was a phenomenal tour guide and gave us personal and in depth information on the tour. I felt like we saw what we needed to see while we were here and would strongly recommend this to anyone. The small group environment was perfect. We never felt rushed and loved the... More

Great tour by Andreas on a 14 seat van. Good views of the city and sights, Andreas conveyed a sense of the spirit of the city with comments about the conservative and liberal phases of the city, culture, politics, and all infused with humor. Pacing of the tour was good, with frequent stops to walk around for photos. Early afternoon... More

Thank you to Andreas for such an amazing tour. He was informative and humorous. It was a great way to spend the first of four days in the city. We took in the mission, haight-ashbury, Castro, and downtown. We made memorable photo opportunity stops at twin peaks, golden gate and over the bridge in Marin county(I think). Absolutely beautiful day... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
