Beautiful city hall loved it and it's just amazing to see 100 yrs old building is way beautiful than these recently made buildings. Just watch out for the near by area specially market street, too many homeless people and even the people themselves are weird.

We traveled from Birmingham, England to marry at City Hall. It was a magical experience, and very straightforward to organise. We have stunning photographs of our ceremony, which took place at the top of the stunning staircase. Would wholeheartedly recommend City Hall for a ceremony.

I've been here for business related transactions, but not sure that I'd consider it a visitors stop. Beautiful from the outside.

The tour guide was very informative and friendly. The whole tour takes about 45 minutes. You will first get a quick history lesson on San Francisco. He will then go onto tell you about the building and show you the many interesting details of the building.

When we arrived in San Francisco we caught the BART train from the airport to civic station. This building was one of the first things we saw as we made our way to our accommodation. It was a wow moment. This building is a beautiful piece of architecture and is complimented by the surrounding buildings. It's a shame that the... More

SF City Hall is one of SF's icons. It survived earthquakes and is now mounted on rubber coated rollers to protect against future quakes. It is in excellent condition, with the 5th largest dome in the world

We only viewed from the Hop On Hop Off bus a couple of times but building is stunning. Tour guides very informative about the area. Artwork out the front was such a contrast to the building.

Staying in Civic Center

Neighborhood Profile
Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.
