What a great day in San Francisco. We spent a few hours doing a guided tour of San Francisco City Hall. It's an iconic building on the San Francisco skyline and incredibly historic. It's where Harvey Milk and Mayor Moscone were assassinated. It has recently undergone a seismic strengthening and restoration, and it looks great. I highly recommend this amazing... More

City Hall San Francisco has a great architecture. It was beautifully constructed. At dawn, you can experience the changing color of the building from green, blue to red. Amazing to set foot on this architecture. Nearby is the San Francisco Public Library.

What a grand piece of architecture. The marble and huge staircase up to the rotunda remind you of a different era. My spouse and I got married here 2 years ago and it was awe inspiring to have the ceremony in the Rotunda looking down at the massive hall. It's free and there are many attraction near here. There are... More

If you have a few minutes and are in the area, then stop by City Hall. The architecture is amazing and you just might see our mayor. If it is Wednesday, then stop by the Farmer's Market a few blocks away and enjoy some fresh produce and tasty meals from some great food trucks.

Didn't go inside, just got some Christmas color photos of the outside. Nice looking city hall. Maybe one of these years I'll go inside for a look-see.

Have you ever been to San Francisco? Well, if you haven't been to San Francisco, I think you should go there for 3 reasons. First, you can see a typical American city. Second, you can see many grand sights. Finally, you can also see European-inspired architecture. When I think about America, I imagine a complicated and busy image, for example,... More

Staying in Civic Center

Neighborhood Profile
Civic Center
Civic Center is the seat of power for all things government and performance-related in the city. Although its streets are best walked during daytime, numerous cultural gems are within close proximity to one another. The symphony, opera, ballet, and jazz center offer year round entertainment within the shadow of the city’s Beaux-Arts crown jewel: the gold tipped dome of City Hall.
