I surprised my wife on her birthday and took her to the italian version of Cinderella by Gioachino Rossini at the SF Opera. Was a beautiful experience and we loved every bit of it! However, I rate it Very Good and not Excellent simply because of the seats. The seats were pretty old and felt very hard. The leg room... More

I was very lucky to watch La Boheme in November. Oh, it was an amazing experience. I bought a 87$ ticket and i thought that it was very expensive! At the end of night i did not regret about that...

My first "real" opera - and what fun! I have no idea what took me 55 years to finally attend the opera. Perhaps it was a fear that it would be "an acquired taste". How silly of me. La Boheme was witty, funny (the audience laughs!), spirited, a visual treat, and what amazing voices. I was thrilled. There is simply... More

The setting is amazing, the cast and orchestra were superb. The downstairs facility for snacks and drinks was elegant and fun for the kids.

Yes it was a great evening, the Opera is well staffed to keep the crowed moving. The opera itself was very entertaining.

Was taken by a local to see la Boheme which was delightful. Simple but clever sets and the cast were fabulous.

We saw Rossini's Cinderella and it was very well played and performed. The accoustics were very good and the opera house a pleasure to be in. An overall perfect experience surrounded by well dressed, friendly people.

Even if you are not an Opera aficionado you should do yourself a favor and attend a world class opera in this very beautiful beaux arts building. I had been here once several years ago and had forgotten just how wonderful a place this is. And, there is also a lecture by a music scholar approximately 1.5 hours before each... More

Inventive staging, a well-considered mixture of class grand opera and more modern pieces. Regularly present some of the world's finest singers. The opera house itself is visually spectacular with good acoustics to match.
