Owner description: On June 7, 1974, Steve Silver produced a small show in the back room of the Savoy Tivoli Restaurant in San Francisco. The show was to run for six weeks. That was over 37 years ago... Today, Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon has the distinguished title of "World's Longest Running Musical Revue." The show - a musical spoof known internationally for its extravagant costumes, outrageous hats, show-stopping numbers and hilarious puns of pop culture and political character - has been seen by over 5.5 Million people, including HRC Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall as well as some of Hollywood's biggest stars."Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon," hailed as "a constant cascade of showstoppers" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", follows Snow White as she takes a fast-paced journey around the world in search of her "Prince Charming." Along the way she encounters a star-studded, ever-changing line-up of hilarious pop-culture characters, including President Barack & Michelle Obama, Gangnam Style, Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen of England, Honey Boo Boo, Governor Jerry Brown, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Hilary & Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Jackson, Adele, General David Patraeus, "50 Shades of Grey," and The San Francisco Giants.

I had no clue what this was about - so glad I went. It is singing, dancing and great costumes and very topical, they must update the show all the time. It had politics, pop culture, everything. Great costumes with very big hair/hats. My only issue was the people that arrived late and the waiters then waited on them during... More

A fast paced show that is witty, topical, current, clever and most of all very entertaining. A last minute decision by us to attend was well rewarded with an hour and half of humour and laughter. Appreciated the cleverness of the song lyrics and absolutely love the hair and hats.Talented singers, dancers. Get there early, the best seats are close... More

It was so topical that there were even clever bits about the Giants, who won the World Series the previous week, and about the results of the election that was held 3 days earlier. The cast is so talented and there are some great singing voices. I saw it 18 months ago, and enjoyed it at least as much this... More

This was a fun night out on our trip but the show was a bit dated and cheesy. We still had a good time and would recommend it to others if you had extra time in San Francisco. Better for adults than for kids we didn't see anyone under 21 in the matinee we were at.The theatre is located close... More

This is the second show we've attended in the last decade and it is still a lot of fun. They keep the show very relevant to the big news stories of the day so it always fresh and entertaining. Great costumes and good times. This is a true San Francisco icon--a must see.

I loved the hats!! You have to be early to get the best seats, we were there a half hour early and were still a few feet back of the front. Some excellent singers, funny at times. A bit expensive for the value but we did enjoy. Not for everyone.

After 40 years and many recommendations a friend finally took us to see The show. Loved the satire, and my British husband loved it too. Loved that the included the Giants not one week after winning the World Series.a part of San Francisco and a must. Drinks are served to where you sit which is also nice.

I didn't quite know what to expect when I purchased a ticket to Beach Babylon, but I soon came to understand what all the fuss is about. The theatre is located in downtown San Francisco and is an easy reach via public transportation. It is recommended you buy your tickets in advance if you want to get it, however during... More

I went here with a girlfriend for a fun night out and it was a blast. The only complaint I would have is they don't serve alcohol on Sunday shows, or maybe it was just the early show on Sunday. The musical is super current. They must write new material every week for the show!

Great show fst paced and not too long my only constructive criticism would be to change and update the end.
