That was over 37 years ago... Today, Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon has the distinguished title of "World's Longest Running Musical Revue." The show - a musical spoof known internationally for its extravagant costumes, outrageous hats, show-stopping numbers and hilarious puns of pop culture and political character - has been seen by over 5.5 Million people, including HRC Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall as well as some of Hollywood's biggest stars."Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon," hailed as "a constant cascade of showstoppers" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", follows Snow White as she takes a fast-paced journey around the world in search of her "Prince Charming." Along the way she encounters a star-studded, ever-changing line-up of hilarious pop-culture characters, including President Barack & Michelle Obama, Gangnam Style, Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen of England, Honey Boo Boo, Governor Jerry Brown, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Hilary & Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Jackson, Adele, General David Patraeus, "50 Shades of Grey," and The San Francisco Giants.

I loved the hats!! You have to be early to get the best seats, we were there a half hour early and were still a few feet back of the front. Some excellent singers, funny at times. A bit expensive for the value but we did enjoy. Not for everyone.

After 40 years and many recommendations a friend finally took us to see The show. Loved the satire, and my British husband loved it too. Loved that the included the Giants not one week after winning the World Series.a part of San Francisco and a must. Drinks are served to where you sit which is also nice.

I didn't quite know what to expect when I purchased a ticket to Beach Babylon, but I soon came to understand what all the fuss is about. The theatre is located in downtown San Francisco and is an easy reach via public transportation. It is recommended you buy your tickets in advance if you want to get it, however during... More

I went here with a girlfriend for a fun night out and it was a blast. The only complaint I would have is they don't serve alcohol on Sunday shows, or maybe it was just the early show on Sunday. The musical is super current. They must write new material every week for the show!

If you like musicals and San Francisco, you really should see this. Loved the topical nature of the songs, and we laughed a lot! Seating is a bit tight, with closely spaced chairs and small tables for drinks. Suggest arriving early (we got there 1 hour before) to wait in line outside. Once in, you're ushered to seats in your... More

Here is a copy of part of the letter I wrote to Jo Schuman Silver (widow of creator, producer, & writer of BBB) praising the 40 year old show: Dear Jo, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping Beach Blanket Babylon alive for all these years. I experienced it again a few weeks ago... More
