The show was to run for six weeks. That was over 37 years ago... Today, Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon has the distinguished title of "World's Longest Running Musical Revue." The show - a musical spoof known internationally for its extravagant costumes, outrageous hats, show-stopping numbers and hilarious puns of pop culture and political character - has been seen by over 5.5 Million people, including HRC Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall as well as some of Hollywood's biggest stars."Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon," hailed as "a constant cascade of showstoppers" by the "San Francisco Chronicle", follows Snow White as she takes a fast-paced journey around the world in search of her "Prince Charming." Along the way she encounters a star-studded, ever-changing line-up of hilarious pop-culture characters, including President Barack & Michelle Obama, Gangnam Style, Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Queen of England, Honey Boo Boo, Governor Jerry Brown, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Hilary & Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Pelosi, Michael Jackson, Adele, General David Patraeus, "50 Shades of Grey," and The San Francisco Giants. « less

We sat in the last row of the cheap rear balcony seats and could see everything fine; so buy tickets early and save $ for a good dinner! Our seats cost $29 a piece after taxes ect. After a full day of walking around seeing the sights the padded shared benches felt great.(4-6 people per row) It was a little... More

This city has so much to see and do, but this show, in its 40th season is a bargain! A musical parody on current events/ politics/ celebrities, it is about 90 minutes of pure fun. Live entertainment that never stops and in a small venue! The story line is hilarious, the creativity endless and the headdresses are amazing- I believe... More

This is one of those classic shows one should see at least once in one's life. Its all San Francisco and the show is fun and amusing. The show will keep one laughing. The theater is rather small, so all seats have a good view. The closer to the action though, the more one feels to be part of he... More

What a great show! Smart, witty, intelligent - and the costumes are incredible! The energy of the actors and actresses is phenomenal - the obviously really enjoy doing the show and are superb. Highly recommended! Funny, funny, funny. If you're visiting, definitely put it on your 'to-do' list for San Francisco. Locals keep returning, too.

This is our second time going to this show. Laughed the entire time. Unless you purchase reserved seating, better get there early and plan to stand in a long line.

This is about the best thing a visitor can do in San Francisco to capture the sense of the town. And since it is a permanent show you can rely on it being there. It's a fine time for locals too who will probably understand the local humor better. Highly recommend to anyone.

This left-leaning political satire changes with the times. All current politicians and issues are fair game. Most shows are 21+: you sit at a table and have drinks (but not much food) during so the show. Teens would get the show, and Sunday matinees are alcohol-free and have no age limit. Like most comedy, this show is hard to follow... More

This is SO worth going to if you are in SanFran! If you don't like music, well, then no, but it has so much comedy mixed in with it don't think that this is just a musical becuase it is so much more! The political satire can go right past you if you are not paying close attention. They hit... More

Really funny, great singing. Cute little theatre. Right next to good bars and restaurants. Go and see it.
