Have been to a couple of college alumni meet ups at the Press Club since relocating to this distant land called California. Tucked away on Yerba Buena and below decks, this is a classy wine bar with a large and good selection, plus tasty nibbles. Seems best suited to a group. Unlike most other places in my adopted city, it... More

I was just there for a private party during a convention. The space is absolutely beautiful and the wine was pretty great too!

We had a gathering of 25 people for my daughter's birthday. It wasa very nice place for a gathering. My daughter had made arrangements with the club for the space and the wine. When we arrived everything was setup with both red and white wine and all the glasses. There was also pitchers of water on the tables. During the... More

I have been to this place several times and its a nice place to hang out, catch up with friends, meet people. I like the layout of the place, great ambiance and I absolutely love the music here. It' has an upscale feel so if you want to go a little fancy I'd highly recommend Press Club. It's a wine... More

This place has a very trendy, modern feel, it's an underground wine bar. Right out the back door of the Marriott Hotel and sitting somewhat underneath the Four Seasons. Have been a couple of times, the last time we had them set up a selection of local cheeses and wines for our group of about 25 in the back area... More

This place is NOT a tasting room anymore, despite the owner's description. It is simply a wine bar that serves a lot of local wine. They do not have tasting stations for individual wineries anymore. We arrived at 3 in the afternoon on a Saturday. It was the Chinese New Year parade day and the start of SF beer week.... More

Great place to hang out in SOMA; big modern space, hidden underground, good range of wines...but wish they had a range of sparkling wines as well...the list was more limited than i anticipated. A little pricey, but expected of SOMA.

We recently went to the Press Club and had a pretty good time. The decor is very nice and we really enjoyed sitting on the couch drinking wine and noshing on some yummy appetizers. The downside is the wine selection. I know that it is a collection of five different wineries however, none of them seem to have really outstanding... More

Great option if you can't make the trip to wine country, but want to get the "Napa Valley experience". Eight quality Napa/Sonoma wineries all have individual tasting tables in this swanky location, staffed by their own employees. It's a beautiful upscale space, and a very fun experience to try different wines and learn something along the way. You can also... More

My wife and I were in San Francisco for a short trip. We wanted to try to take in all the sights in three days. The list was three pages long, so we decided to ‘optimize’ the experience. We found out about the Press Club from a friend. They said you could take in the complete Napa Experience all in... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
