The portion of this trail I am familiar with runs along the west side of the San Francisco Bay from the South Bay north past the airport. Many sections are paved. Excellent trail for walking, running, or biking. Usually a singificant number of people on the weekends, in the more popular spots, but never really crowded. At some points the... More

We drive up this trail and it did get bumpy at times but at the top you get the best and most scenic views of SF. Watch out though. It's very windy so take a jacket.

This is a great way to see the bay water without having to worry about traffic (mostly). There are some parts of the trail that could use a reworking, meaning it's bumpy due to broken path or roots pushing up. Take a ride or walk, there are plenty of places to take a break and enjoy the scenery.

My walking buddy and I were in the mood to check out a different trail in the city and came across the Bay Trail. It encompasses Fort Point, Crissy Field promenade and Marina Green areas which was quite scenic. On a clear day, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. It was quite a nice walk (over 4... Firstly, I should mention that I haven't seen the entire trail We hired a bikes for a day and rode part of it. We are slightly to moderately fit. It was an easy day ride from SF city across the bridge to Sausalito and on to Tuburon with a ferry back to SF. Cost about $90 each for bike hire... More
