Urban Trek USA's - small group (maximum of 7 people)- urban trek is an experience better than being aboard a tour bus or shuttle. An urban trek is a sightseeing & walking tour experience where you will use the city's public transportation system and walk around and learn about the different neighborhoods, see great views around the city, and have lunch or a coffee break at the best places in the neighborhood. You will feel almost like a local San Franciscan after your urban trek. Check the customized urban trek for a party of four or more.

I took 2 tours with Anton: Urban Trek#2 and Urban Trek#4. Both tours were absolutely amazing. Anton will take you to places you would never find yourself. He generously shares his love to San Francisco with you. During his walking tours you will discover so many interesting things about the city: its history, art, unique architecture, traditions, and authentic food.... More

Tour guide Anton provided excellent overview of SF during one 8 hour day trek. There is no way we could have explored and discovered so many neighbourhoods in such a short timeframe on our own. Anton is professional, personable and knowledgeable, and no question went unanswered. Using a combination of old technology (referencing historical photos in a binder at appropriate... More

Our experience with Anton started when we emailed to see if there was availability for Trek 4 (half day) on the one day Saturday we would be in SF - there was not. We explained that we were limited on time and were bummed we wouldn't be able to make the Trek we were interested in (we were running a... More

Brilliant! Not only practical, informative re SF's history both past and present but ably delivered by the amiable and very professional tour guide Anton. I would highly recommend this and to do it at the beginning of your visit as it helped me greatly to orientate me to the city and in practical ways re the transport system and tips... More

I did an urban trek day tour last summer when visiting SF for the first time and it was perfect. No need to say more, all the previous positive comments are true. Anton did an amazing job. I only wish I can get similar good day tours when I visit other cities!

We went on an Urban Trek tour last year when in San Francisco and felt that it was the best tour we ever had anywhere! We eagerly booked another tour this year upon returning and, unbelievably, our best tour ever was topped by this year's tour!!!! I cannot emphasize enough -- you can have no better tour experience in San... More

Anton did an amazing job of showing us a "local" view of the city. We spent 7 hours with him along with our son and daughter-in-law and their 7 month old twins. He took us to out-of-the-way quaint places, explained how the city developed, and load of recommendations. He gave us emails with ideas as well as handouts. A binder... More

I went on a tour with the charming Anton yesterday and was lucky enough to be the only person to sign up, so I got a personal tour at a bargainous price. Anton really knows his stuff. His knowledge of San Francisco is encyclopedic and his enthusiasm boundless, and he has a folder full of information and photos to help... More

Spent a wonderful day with Anton on his Urban Trek tour num 1. I really lucked out in being the only one to sign up and got a private tour. Anton is well informed on the historical facts, but also had really interesting and amusing anecdotes about current and past famous San Franciscans. ln addition to learning a lot of... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighborhood decorated with colorful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighborhood.
