but dress warm. Plan to get a nice fresh seafood dinner as there are restaurants everywhere on the bay and it is affordable. Or even some street food clam chowder. A lot of the restaurants have stands on the street selling their product.

Take a cruise around the bay under all the bridges. There are a number of options available at Pier 39 or Fisherman's Wharf.

The first we saw of San Francisco Bay was when we woke up and looked out of our hotel window on our first morning there. Right in front of us was Alcatraz and off to the left was the Golden Gate Bridge. Wow! Could it get any better?

We spent lots of time walking in the Bay Area. The neighborhoods were neat and clean. We especially loved the beautiful homes. Thank you SF for being fabulous hosts.

Speakers on the boat play a tape that explains what you are seeing as you go. Hard to hear unless you experiencing a non-windy day. If so,... More

Bridges crisscrossing the Bay are marvels of engineering. So amazing with cities in background. Watched lights coming on as sun set.

The bay are is known for its beauty and the parts of it that are in San Francisco are great way to escape the urban hubbub. One of the nicest ways to explore it is by bicycle. Rent one (if you didn't bring your own) but beware that many bike rentals are quite crappy so choose your bike carefully. San... More
